You know what's fun? Equip a bunch of settlers, like 15 or more, with mini guns, laser rifles, anythingthing good, then send all 15+ of them to another settlement. They walk there and you walk with them. They absolutely BEAST on everything in their path lol it's like having a small army march through the wasteland. I have a couple saved videos I'm gonna upload but here is someone on reddit doing the same shit:

You just have to give settlers like 10-15 of the ammo of the gun you set them to use and they will never run out! It's your companions that go through ammo like crazy. I think the only ammo a settler will use is mini nukes, but that's way too dangerous anyway lol they'll nuke something 3 feet away from them
Jus hit lvl 50, only time I've used that power armor was @ the museum in the beginning, seems like to much work to grab em & use a power cell...jus built my transport to the institute...going to hold off tho. Not sure how close I am to the end game...trying to complete the side ish

U only have to make 1-2 trips. Just unload everything at a work bench, so go to your home stash of weapons and carry as many weapons as u can and same with your companion, fast travel to the settlement and drop the weapons into work bench, fast travel back for more weapons if needed. When ur finished, take all the weapons out of the work bench and equip the 10-15 settlers of weapons.

Nooooooo!!!! Did you save it before? Keep trying. Take as many drugs as u have, take them all! When time is slowed shoot the main bad guy a couple times.If you have decent charisma and u choose to speak like the shroud every time it should scare off his back up goons too. The perks are worth it cuz homie will armor up your silver shroud outfit several times to the point where its like 150/150 damage/rad resistant

How far back was it? If not too far back just reload.
But if you already progressed a bit don't worry about, it's only that one outfit he upgrades (3 or 4 different times). I like that outfit though with the hat, looks like some 50s noire shit.
There is a faaar better upgrade you can get from doing Railroad missions (you don't have to join them if you don't want to, just do the Tinker Tom missions) which gives you the ballistic weave ability which is dope as hell, it gives you the ability to line under armour clothing (army fatigues, road leathers, raiders leathers, gunner clothes, etc) four different levels of armor, the highest being like 110 dmg resistance, and that STACKS with whatever armor you wear on top. So you're essentially similar to low level power armor without having to worry about fusion cores and being slowed down a bit.
