Matt Hasselbeck has become a rebound master this season.

Coming off of a Seahawks loss, the veteran quarterback has been stellar in the very next contest, producing some his most excellent stats and leading Seattle to a 4-1 record in those games. It bodes well for Hasselbeck and the Seahawks this weekend, who are fresh off a 40-21 defeat to San Francisco and face the Falcons at home on Sunday.

Here’s a look at Hasselbeck’s performances in bounce-back games following Seahawks losses this season:

» Following 31-14 loss at Denver • vs. San Diego (W, 27-20): 19-for-32, 59%, 220 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
» Following 20-3 loss at St. Louis • at Chicago (W, 23-20): 25-for-40, 63%, 242 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
» Following 41-7 loss vs. New York • at Arizona (W, 36-18): 22-for-34, 65%, 333 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
» Following 34-19 loss at New Orleans • vs. Kansas City (L, 42-21): 20-for-37, 54%, 282 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
» Following 42-21 loss vs. Kansas City • vs. Carolina (W, 31-14): 17-for-30, 57%, 229 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT
» Following 40-21 loss at San Francisco • vs. Atlanta: Sunday at Qwest Field

These two dont help the argument, not sure why they used them in the example.

» Following 34-19 loss at New Orleans • vs. Kansas City (L, 42-21): 20-for-37, 54%, 282 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
» Following 42-21 loss vs. Kansas City • vs. Carolina (W, 31-14): 17-for-30, 57%, 229 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT

I don't think it was an argument.

This is just like the Bears/Seahawks game. The whole world thought Seattle was going to get raped, and look what happened.

I'm not saying we have a chance to win, but I'm just keeping my optimism open in this one. Like chree said, any given Sunday.

I'll be surprised as fuck if Seattle pulls off the win and I'm going to get blacked out if they win lol
Both good teams, Seahawks really gotta do something special if they want this one. Watching you guys play I ask why don't they make an extra effort to tackle, it seems its not there.

Everyone in the division could possibly lose this week, including Arizona lol

Yup, I know what you mean. Dexter Davis comes to mind when mentioning that. Just let the ball carrier run right by him in the open field, but he is just a low draft pick rookie.

no excuse for him though, he has got to put his body on the line. Maybe there is problems within the team? I didn't think there would be infact with Caroll at the start he injected some life in the hawks, but the season isnt over yet.

They both had the same records at that point at 4-1
5 games into the season you can't really gauge how good teams are... the verdict is usually still out at that point

being 11-2 is much more impressive than being 4-1

basically my point is is if Seattle wins this game it will be a much bigger upset than them beating Chicago week 6 of the season, or whatever it was

You can look at it either way you want, the fact of the matter is Seattle unexpectedly won against the Bears and on the road no less. We all should know by now Seattle plays very poorly on the road, so that was a big win for Seattle.

call me stupid but i really think the seahawks could pull a big upset. this year has been so off and on i can't fully count them out, even though im leaning strongly wtih the falcons, im picking the hawks. heres hoping that the falcons brushed the hawks off as an easy win and dont bring enough to win it
