Whats everyone talkin about this Flagrant foul was bullshit??? That shit WAS A FLAGRANT!!! you cant try to block someone with both of your hands at the same time. That shit equals more power/strength and a greater risk of an injury to the player who is being fouled. He could've easily broke his nose or busted his eye. Especially when Shaq (7'1" 330 pounds) is doing it to someone thats half his size.

Back to the game...

Fox stunk up the court with his continuous WIDE OPEN bricks. But when someone is in his face he sinks em in??? WTF

Also, why aint Phil Jackson playin Tracy Murray and Brian Shaw at the same time??? If you need Threes you play this line-up right here, Shaw, Kobe, Murray, Horry, and Shaq. (tell me that aint the line-up if you need threes) They were in desperate need of threes yesterday. They were gettin LIT UP. they shot what? 5 for 30 or some shit.

Everyones goal is to win a championship. Given their current position, there short term goal is to get into a playoff spot. Whats the Bulls goal? To reach 20 wins for the season?

Yo' Nitro, I wasn't saying Shaq doesn't get wacked alot, because he does, only that I didn't see it much in this game. Most likely this was due to the fact that Ming has only been in counrty like 3 months and he's not learned that bad habit yet (LOL). Actually change that, he's both big enough and skilled enough to where he doesn't have to do that at all (as was evident by the fact that he was never in any real danger of fouling out). He obviously respects O'Neal a lot and rather play him strait up (he doesn't appeare to be a flopper either). And that's refreshing in this age of Hack-a-Shaq. There next meeting should be a lil better though (from Ming's stance) even more so next year after Yao has had a full year to adjust physically and mentally to b-ball here in the States.

Next game:
About the same for Shaq, but he'll punish Yao even worse inside and try to shoot over him a lot less. For Yao, at least 17 pts and 9 reb's, but he's likey to foul out late.

I know you try and present yourself as a reasonable man, and not a one sided Laker fan, but sometimes you just gotta stand by your team.

Report: NBA rescinds Shaq flagrant against Rockets

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

The NBA on Monday rescinded a controversial flagrant foul call made against Shaquille O'Neal during the Lakers' 108-104 overtime loss to the Rockets on Friday night, the Los Angeles Times reports.

On the play in question, Steve Francis drove to the basket, where O'Neal made contact with the point guard. A flagrant foul was called by referee Monty McCutchen. Lakers coach Phil Jackson was subsequently hit with a technical foul for arguing the call. The technical foul was also rescinded by the NBA, according to the Times.

The sequence helped the Rockets increase their lead from one point to four points.

"The unfortunate thing is it had to be decided by them,'' O'Neal said after the game, referring to the the officials. "A whole bunch of people who paid a lot of money had to see a game that was decided by someone who doesn't make a lot of money. That's unfortunate.''

When told of the NBA decision to overturn the calls, O'Neal clapped lightly on Monday, but did not comment otherwise, according to the Times. However, O'Neal was saved a point in the NBA's system of overseeing flagrant fouls. When a player accumulates six points, he is suspended for one game.

The game featured the first matchup between O'Neal and Houston rookie center Yao Ming, and lived up to its billing, even though Shaq dominated Yao at times. O'Neal finished with 31 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while Yao had 10 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks.

The star of the game, however, was Francis, who led the Rockets with a career-high 44 points.

Nice follow-up post Nitro.

We all could have done without Shaq's, "...by someone who doesn't make a lot of money." comment though. That reminded me too much of Patrick Ewing's dumb-ass line from the lockout season.

"NBA players make a lot of money. But they spend a lot of money, too."

Rich assholes.
