I decided to check them out. Wow. Fuckin hard. I was searching around on Wikipedia for bands and I started with Tool and ended up in the drone/doom/sludge metal section somehow. I dont like funeral metal, i cant stand the grunting which is just as bad as constant screaming. The drone metal just looked...weird. In the middle was sludge/stoner metal. I DL'd Dopesick and its nice.

There are a shitload of other bands that i couldnt find, so if anyone has some suggestions in the stoner/sludge metal department, let me know.

Big Business is from Seattle, great band. They are kind of on hold right now because they more or less joined The Melvins. I haven't heard the new one that you got but I like Head for the Shallow a lot.

Kyuss is the fucking shit. You really can't go wrong with any of their stuff.

I'd say The Sword is more like basic Heavy Metal, maybe even a little Doom, not Sludge though. I liked Age of Winters a lot when I first got it, but like all bands that sound like they are in the wrong decade it got old quick.

I never checked out Eyehategod even though I have really heard nothing but positive things about them. I guess I'll have to SLSK them sometime soon.

my favourite is prolly beaten back to pure

cant go wrong with some acid bath, crowbar, corrosion of conformity or down either.

Boris has a killer atmosphere live.
As soon as you hear the killer sound of the orange amps mixed with the thick fog, you know you're going to get your ass kicked. Lol. Atsuo makes the funniest faces :)

Mezbrow is like the godfather of the Japanese noise rock scene. I only own Space Metalizer and Door Open At 8AM by him but I like them a lot. I should really check out some more of his stuff.

Those albums came out on Alien8 records. Most of their early stuff was noise and experimental music but they have diversified in the last few years to include lots of other genres. They put out those Set Fire To Flames albums I upped a little while back.

Kylesa is the shit, still haven't seen them live though, closest I came was when they were opening for Rwake here in little rock, got there just as they finished.. fucking job :mad:
