I'm glad this doesn't seem as prevalent in football, but it explains all the blatant missed holding calls on James Harrison. If they let him loose last week and he had killed Favre the league wouldn't have the big "Favre returns to Green Bay" game to promote this week..

It's not surprising, but it's sad..

I'm glad this book is coming out, but fuck that guy! I hate people that are part of the corruption and then at some point sell out and turn on the people they conspired with - as if they're better. This dude's worse. He's a sell out, a rat and a cheating ass ref..

Of course you don't want to believe it...can't have Kobe and the Lakers rings being questioned.....
HAhAh the two games he mentioned are "questionable" with or without his testimony. This I can not deny, even if I could before. But it is important to note that he was not involved in either of those games.

OR...maybe it doesn't have anything to do with Favre. Maybe the refs are Browns fans!

Off topic but...

I'm not in Cleveland...if I was...I wouldn't pay for a ticket anymore...and I've been a fan since the mid 80's.

I think not buying tickets would send a stronger message...I doubt Lerner cares as long as he's still selling out every game.

Says a guy who's favorite team won a controversially contested Super Bowl 4 years ago.

Regular season game < Super Bowl, you'll never have anything to complain about, Steelers are the Lakers of the NFL

For the record, I agree about the corruption in football. The Seahawks were just unlucky victims of suddenly ticky-tack officiating, I don't think it was fixed. But yes thank god the NFL, college sports or MLB is like that. Every sport has their issues, but nothing's worse than it actually being fixed.

You would think that the NBA would love a guy who plays such great defense. Think again! Star stoppers hurt the promotion of marquee players. Fans don't pay high prices to see players like Raja Bell-they pay to see superstars like Kobe Bryant score 40 points. Basketball purists like to see good defense, but the NBA wants the big names to score big points.

If a player of Kobe's stature collides with the likes of Raja Bell, the call will almost always go for Kobe and against Bell. As part of our ongoing training and game preparation, NBA referees regularly receive game-action video tape from the league office. Over the years, I have reviewed many recorded hours of video involving Raja Bell. The footage I analyzed usually illustrated fouls being called against Bell, rarely for him. The message was subtle but clear-call fouls against the star stopper because he's hurting the game.

If Kobe Bryant had two fouls in the first or second quarter and went to the bench, one referee would tell the other two, "Kobe's got two fouls. Let's make sure that if we call a foul on him, it's an obvious foul, because otherwise he's gonna go back to the bench. If he is involved in a play where a foul is called, give the foul to another player."

Is ANYONE surprised by this? EVERYONE knows cry baby kobe gets every fucking call his way. Now its confirmed.

Never really been a Sonics fan when they were around, and I've stated that already somewhere around in this sports forum. So you're dumb lol

My team is the team that keeps knocking your weak ass team out of the playoffs. LOL

my homie in college used to watch a lot of sports and his girlfriend would watch with us. she was smart studying to go to medical school. well she was very convinced the nba was fixed. because every year no matter how mismatched the teams were in the playoffs and the finals the series would always go beyond 4 games. Like you know team a is gonna win but somehow the series gets stretched to 6 games or whatever. the more games the series is the more the nba makes off commercials and broadcasting the game.

what if sports are all rigged and you spend a big part of your life following sports and it's all a hoax? just something to think about. i only really follow nfl football.

Yea, a Spurs fan from Seattle. I could root for the fucking Celtics if I wanted to bc I like the way they play, but I don't. I root for the fucking team where I'm from. You do that for the Seahawks, why not the Sonics (or now Thunder), or no team at all?

For one, I am not from Seattle, Second, I've been a Spurs fan since I was kid. Even before their first championship. When I was a kid, I wasn't into sports as much as I am now, so I picked favorite players instead(mostly due to collecting cards, and trading them and see who got the best card out of the deck between me and friends, and I still have ALL of them cards), and David Robinson was my favorite player, and being a Spurs fan just stuck. I've been watching as much of theirs games as I can possibly watch.

If you have a problem with that, I really don't give a shit.
