a dude i know going to school for sound engineering said his professor was saying EPs are making a come back cause folks are tired of getting half-ass LPs, so mufuckers giving these short albums so the loss isn't so great on the artist and keeps the consumer happy if it's a mostly solid release. so what y'all opinion on it and if you're an artist, are you thinking of going the EP route? EPs were the thing for chicago rappers in the 90s cause well, they couldn't afford to put out full albums but now that technology makes it easier to record and push out shit so quick they changed it up to mixtapes.

well no, it never really went away but in the large scale of things it fell back. i listen to a lot of electronica and many of the music releases EPs also but i suppose for rap music sake, it took a back seat on all levels. though, just cause the album is shorter, don't mean 3 out of maybe the 6 songs are gonna solid.
