we are pulling out of / drawing down in iraq. did you seriously expect that the entire u.s. force would be withdrawn overnight? you don't think that such a sudden withdrawal would further destabilize iraq? we shouldn't have been there in the first place, but that doesn't mean that we should pull out with such haste that we leave the place in complete disarray. we wrecked it; we have a responsibility to restore it to a reasonable state.
where do you get your facts? "mandated another 500,000 troops"...what!? the u.s. troop level will reach about 68,000 in nov/dec, and no further increases have been planned as of yet.
we will never go beyond special operations / airstrikes with regard to pakistan...and if obama really wanted war with iran, he could already have had it...he has been going out of his way to pursue a diplomatic solution and, as a result, has been getting hammered by hawks in the u.s. and israel.
