to be honest ive seen serveral people cop earl stevens just based on it being 'e40s wine' and ive seen liquor stores have to cop it based on customers requesting it, alot like belaire, which i havent had yet but ive heard good things about regardless
dont know if its being considered a success yet, now, soon, on the way, or ever, but i have to admit i have seen quite a few spots go from not haivng it, seeing it brought up with my own eyes to the liquor store guys, and seeing them fill the demand. i dont normally see wine being bought outside of for cheap price reasons, or your normal businessman still in his suit and tie (tie off around that time) hitting the 7-11 at 1:25am copping the baby 4 packs of sutter home... like it got mentioned above, certain people buy wine for certain reasons and thats real. but ive seen more people cop earl stevens lately then ive seen people buy wine period lately. thats to be respected to some degree whether or not you like the taste.
a hustle is a hustle and on a businessman/hustlers side of the business, yes quality is going to be your best friend when it comes to building and keeping clientele, but alot of times drugs/alcohol sells itself, some people dont like the taste of alcohol to begin with and are just in it for what alcohol does to them, so its not really something that can be argued too hard. alcohols one of them things where taste is a plus/bonus, but its not NEEDED. like i drink mainly vodka but i cant tell you i enjoy drinking vodka for its taste, it just seems to do my body better, has a little less 'personality' (and thats what i WANT tbh cuz um not looking for great taste in something that lets be real, jsut dosent taste great even if its the best tasting, its still wack as a taste) and its easily chased with something enough for me to not taste it again.
i happened to have a arizona mango when i was dirnking mango moscato at the homies house and tried two things: 1, lightly 'aiding' the wine with the arizona (not mixing, 18% aint worth mixing, im talking about adding a splash to see if it helped the personality or taste) NOT AT ALL. actually was a huge mistake even with a splash. and im talking like 1/20th- 1/15th of the cup not nothin like 1/8th even. made it worse. #2, tried drinking the arizona after taking huge gulps of the wine, much like a smart man drinks water in between his drinks. helped none outside of killing my woulda been hangover, but the tastes did not help eachother in any way shape or form. id have to try like, eating trader hoes (joes) mango ice cream, or like, naked juice mango. i think neither are going to pleasantly help mangomoscato out. its not horrible but it does have a certain 'chemical' , to quote dode..taste to it that to be honest just cant be mixed or worked with...with any sort of thing whether it be mango flavored drinks, a mango itself, cheese, meats, anything. if you can find something to pair this shit with, please let me know. youre better than i, and im a mix.remix king.
unrelated peep the documentary 'beer wars' shit was a real good doc about the top 3 beers supremacy over the market and the indy breweries fight to be respected, noticed and possibly make a little money without getting backdoored in the process.
shout out to those people who make beer with the goal of attempting to make the beer tasty. i consider that changing the beer game for real. remember the first time i drank rogues chocolate stout, i had some faith that beer could really have personality and taste to it outside of just being a normal beer. your hops and what not. the normal recipe. great to see people working with it, like dogfish head, rogue, abita, fat tire, arrogant bastard, so on so forth.
check out that 'beer wars' documentary like i said. if youre interested in this talk. not really wine of course, but beer has found itself in competition with wine as well.at this point some beers are able to be cellar aged like beers, are reaching the alc content of wines, sort of following alot of the same ideas to age the beers as wines have, etcetera.
