u missing the whole point homie, and it's not just about 40, THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE BAY DON'T GO NO WHERE UNTIL NOW.....
inside the Bay Area and Northern California, we love mobb music, we would all love to hear everybody doing mobb shit all the time, BUT, outside of the Bay, they fell off of that shit in the 90's. that has been the biggest gripe with Bay music for the last damn near 10 years, IT ALL STILL SOUNDS THE SAME, and ITS NOT CLUB, YOU CANT DANCE TO IT. now with all the strides that have been made in the last few years with artists like 40, Quinn, The Team, F.A.B., Balance, HoodStarz, etc etc etc etc.. bla bla bla, we are adjusting finally to the times, there is still music being made that can be respected by hardcore Bay Area fans, BUT there is music being made that can be accepted by the masses, and that's why we're finally starting to win again. u say real 40 fans don't slap U And Dat, bullshit, but whatever, let's say that's true, even if "REAL" fans don't play that, NATIONWIDE in areas like the South, the East, Midwest, that song is HUGE, it is a club BANGER a mainstay in clubs in the south and other areas. recently it was used in a cellphone commercial, and it's also featured on one of those "Hits" comilation CDs that come out every year like the "Now" series. That's what doing crossover music can do for you. If you do the same shit forever, you're never gonna go anywhere, Bay Area artists are about striking a balance in their music right now, that's why we're getting better, I aint gonna say doing well cuz we aint all the way there yet, but we're moving up. 12 year old white girls will listen to U and Dat, do you know who buys records? 12 year old white girls. 40 went Gold, NOT JUST IN THE BAY, but because he has now become a household name nationwide. if he came out with a album full of sam bostic and ant banks and studio ton beats, and just talked about mobb this mobb that i'mma shoot u in the face all the time, u think he'd be where he is right now and the Bay Area music scene would be as hot as it is right now. NO. That's the point, he's doing what he needs to do for himself and the Bay as a whole
