you know i have an opinion just like your homie, and just like you i choose to express it. regardless of who or what you are, we'll both choose to pursue this situation however we can whether it be through you supporting it, or mee not suppoorting it. Whether you choose to buy a ticket and enjoy the show or i choose to go to every barrio i can and talk to anyone that matters to inform them on whats going on with this shit, its on the person.
naw brotha....this has nothing to do with your video....its your video...i dont want it...i got plenty of footage the homies.....about Caspers interview...i have it....i could put it out today if i wanted to, but i aint had time to edit it just like yall didnt.....and really, this aint even about defending gilbert....were all businessmen at the end of the day, but u are upset cuz he aint puttin on certain homeboys on his stage....im talking about when i called u about what it takes to get casper on ur site....you said you aint buying cds for more than 2 bucks or sumshit....and that the posters pretty much had to be given to you for free....when u on your site selling them for well over 5 dollars....ur site aint up, otherwise id have a link for u....how you gon profit from them but we couldnt. Same with the cds, u had them up there for 10 and up....i just didnt see how you only were the one seeing profit....we aint never done business cuz of that. But when it came to stars the limit, i know they were gettin their dough. and coner. That convo changed my opinion of you as a homeboy business man, or just as a business man period. Ur homeboy status or affiliation as far as the streets go aint my concern....thats has nothing to do with nothin, only how you said your site was run. I was like how all these homies gon let that shit slide later to find out that not everyone got same treatment. That is y this time i posted, cuz u acted in the same form as u say Gilbert does with his shows. Its just a business. As far as footage youve collected over the years?????? what does that have to do with me.....
Now to me, that whole conversation sounds a little off. First off, i have not gotten cds for 2$ a cd since i started selling cds and that was when i would pick up over loads from manufacturers. Second, on my site it was clear that i would buy all mixtape/slim jewel case press up for 3$ and sell them for 6.99$ or so. All standard press cds were at 5$ a cd unless otherwise specified from the artist for cheaper or more, but honestly i never liked to pay more because i wanted to have a standard price of 10.99$ for all new or standard releases. anything hard to find or rare will be sold on ebay for what it can get on bid. So for you to say i offered to buy for 2$ does not sound right and any and all profits i earned went towards, site cost, shipping, promotion, travel, etc.. Just like you said, business. and these are all cost of business.
its all good. thats my opinion. no big deal. ur success is still ur success and i congratulate and encourage u to keep doing good business if thats what u do. ur footage, i only wanted to view it before it goes out. that homie u recorded dont even rap. regardless, lost in the wind brotha. imma be at street low pushin this music. When and if the entire cause feels this is a misfortune, then, i am a part of that. Until then, good luck.
This type of arguement comes up every car show thread. Fact is the promoter is doing these shows based on his wallet, not on his heart. If he was in business for doing favors he'd go broke. Business is business and the bottom line is the bottom line. Replace that lineup with all northern artist and watch the crowd for the show be half of what it would have been. Watch the cops bust it up before it happens too. E-40 draws crowds of all demographics. White, black, latino, northerner, southerner, bulldog old school, new school etc. Your average northern rapper hits MAYBE three. It's not hate, nothing personal, it's business.
I FEEL IT, I WAS ON THE SAME HYPE NOT TOO LONG AGO. I WASNT FEELING THE NOT PAYIN THE HOMIES TO PERFORM TOO, THATS WHY I DONT DO THESE SHOWS. BUT AFTER TALKIN TO THE HOMIE GILBERT, I AGREE WITH SOME OF HIS BUSINESS (NOT ALL) DECISIONS... AS HOMEBOY RAPPERS, WE DO GET HATED ON ALOT, ITS NOT RIGHT, BUT IT HAPPENS. I WAS SUPPOSE TO DO AN A APPEARANCE LAST WEEKEND AT THIS CLUB AND JUST CUZ MY NAME WAS ON THE FLYER, THE POLICE SHOWED UP AND SAID, IF THEY HAVE ME PERFORM THAT THEY WILL SHUT THE WHOLE PARTY DOWN. EVEN THO I WAS PAID, I STILL COULDNT SHOW UP..... THERE IS ALOT WE DONT SEE BEHIND THE SCENES THAT GOES ON TO THROW THESE CARSHOWS. YOU GOT TO DEAL WITH CITY OFFICIALS, POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND ALL KINDS OF PERMITS AND INSURANCES..... IM NOT SIDING UP WITH ANYBODY, I JUST UNDERSTAND BOTH ANGLES..... LOWRIDING IS A BIG PART OF OUR CULTUR AS CHICANOS AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE OUR PEOPLE ON STAGE GIVING THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT, BUT I DONT THINK IT WOULD TAKE LONG BEFORE THE POLICE GET INVOLVED AND SHUT DOWN, IN MY OPINION..... THIS GAME IS FUCKED, AND ODDS ARE AGAINST US, REGARDLESS!
i feel that tone, i know the cops are always on us big time from car shows to clubs and this si the big reason as raza we should come together and fight that shit. Gilbert has the resources and outlets to fight the city back but its just seems like people look past it like whatever bt the more we continue to let this happen , the more we will be backed into corners. Is it even legal for a city to impose a "no gang color" policy and enforce on only young chicanos. people can still wear blue and just about any other color. These are just my concerns and if i had the lawyer, financial, and media outlets, i would fight this shit everytime. Until then, i guess all we can do is wait to be told no everytime.
