Aye, I've been to U.A.E. several times. I remember back in '99 I was out there and they were building the worlds largest mosque and various other projects. All the workers are imported because U.A.E. citizens don't perform labor, they are ALL rich. All the "slaves" wore the same cloths....like some blue coveralls and sandals. One night, we were driving on the freeway and they had one of them ol' school chopped and stacked buses like you see in Europe that was triple stacked. They had these "slaves" piled in that triple decker bus and I swear half of them were sitting on each others lap and not one of them was awake. They looked like they just got the life worked out of them 4real. It was like 1:00AM and I could only imagine the work day that they completed in the 120F sun. Shit it was 1:00AM and it was still over 100F outside. They'd be out there building a high-rise building like 100ft in the air in sandals and shit. Off the hook.
Well, they protect the Chinese economy and Chinese interests (as any country would).
Hopefully your company doesn't have any Intellectual Property that it wants to protect. Once the government funded bootleggers figure out how to make what you're making it'll be "Fuck you round-eye" and you'll be shown the closest airport.

I think were all pretty much on the same page but if anyone is jumping into this topic right now.. Thinking that what me and a few others said are the "Same ol government conspiracy bullshit" then read the links that have been posted.
And thanks to the few with the extra links. Im lookin at the shit now. I found out what happend through a girls presentation in school Her father actually was hired to work ona building in Dubai, and she almost had to move there. Of course she was stoked, but then she looked into it and was wondering why her dad (an architect) didnt really want to have anything to do with it. Her presentation was pretty interesting since she had ALOT of shit and shit from her dads perspective too since he went out there

Of course shit gets copied, but China is changing. The laws for the protection of intellectual property that were passed some years ago are up to similar laws in any western country. You still cannot rely 100% on it. You have to protect your shit by being smart! I could write a lot about this, because I have several friends who are industrial designers, but that might do better in GOM...
