Congrats!

i'm going the community college route.. applying to Berkeley's Haas school of business, just finished with a 3.62 GPA this semester up from 3.25 last semester.. hoping to get it up to 4.0 or as close to it as possible and stay there to up my chances of getting in.. still gotta finish General Ed AND Berkeley's Breadth to fulfill. It'll be worth it in the end though.

That seems like the one failing of UoP is the damn learning teams. I swear to GOD some people there dont deserve to be in remedial 2nd grade, let alone college. But, ya, that is the one gripe I have. But, otherwise, its cool. Anyone who thinks it is a diploma mill tho, is an idiot who obviously never went to school there (or failed or dropped out due to its rigor). But, ya, congrats.

If you ever decide to, you should do the MBA, its pretty cool. My degrees from public university are in sociology, and since I dont have a PhD, I cant do a damn thing with them; hence the MBA.
Yea man, the learning teams can be a bitch. I plan on getting the MBA, but I want to take some time off to enjoy life and let me chick finish with her education.

Definitely not a diploma mill. UoP has one of the lowest completion rates in the country from what I understand.

Congrats to you, too. Keep at it. I was on the 10 year college plan. Kept dropping out after high school to make some cash, and I wish I hadn't. Went back to Community College in '06 and went balls to the wall until '09...then transferred my credits and got the shit done.

that's good shit right there. my boy, whom I grew up with, went to cullinsry school in sf. dude is doing well now (was even on that show 'chopped', representing the v!). so yeah, it's definitely what you make of it.
Yea my homie graduated cca sf in like 2003-4 and hes the executive chef of the 49ers in santa clara. Hes chef for yahoo right now due to the lockout but hes made food and talked to hall of famers and even the commisioner goodell.
Unfortunately stories like these are not common because that school scams most students into huge debt with bleak outlook of jobs at the end.

Congrats man! I know this isn't really important but I'm finishing my junior year of high school this year, having gotten honor roll all 4 quarters (I didn't get honors once my freshman and sophomore years, liked to dick around and smoke tons of weed and shit lol) while maintaining a job. I took the SAT but am looking at maybe doin the military for a couple of years.

yeah it depends mostly on the individual. if youve got some genuine skill in what you do, a degree to back it will only help open up some doors to compliment your ability. its like an additional tool on your belt....whether it be from cca sf, u of phx, or yale. a brand name degree like yale or harvard will get ppls instant attention quicker and may provide some shortcuts in a hiring process...but real skill and what you can actually DO and have DONE usually counts for more in the long run

congrats sydal

Props Sydal. I graduated from Arizona State University December 17th 2010. It was a long battle to get my degree. Good job on finishing up, because no one can take that degree from you.
