Finished my Bachelor's program last week with a 3.9...walking in July. Shit really does feel more amazing than anything I've ever accomplished. What's kind of weird is, it actually sucks that I won't be going to class this week. I never thought I'd say that.

I just hope my little man learns from this later and gets his stuff done sooner than I did.

UoPhoenix.

I know I know, a lot of people don't think it's a real school.
Congrats Sydal..I graduated from UOP in November 2010...Working in teams, always writing papers (especially when you have to go by APA standards, but for some reason every teacher wants papers written how they want it) and doing presentations is no joke....Congrats fam...I'm prolly going back to get my masters in teaching but i really dont want to put another 20k bounty on my head....

Congrats to you too, fam. It was definitely the most intense two years of school ever. Papers, presentations, and those damn finals that NOBODY liked. I want to get my master's, too...but I want to find a job or some shit that will help me pay for it. Fuck coming out of pocket again...

I'm sick of people saying that school is a diploma mill...grad rate is one of the lowest in the country. Shit, About 75% of the group I started with dropped within the first year. So I'm proud as fuck that I finished it...and with an infant the entire 2nd year.

Propz - Ya I know the feeling I went to the Culinary Academy in S.F. ....... I get the " Thats not a real school " often ......

Its keeping me a float plus got the degree all framed yeeeeee ...
THAT'S where I wanted to go...'cause I love cooking. People are such haters....that's a good skill to have. And people who go to schools like that can make an ass load of money given the right opportunity.

congratulations

I think the real school vs fake school debate is old... All that matters is does the degree work for you, and does it get you to where you need. If it does then who care where it comes from.

congrats sydal, that's big. got any plans now?
Get a job...lol. I've been doing a few things from home, but I'm not a sit at home kind of guy. I actually really hate it. Eat, sleep, shower, and work in the same place = cabin fever like a mf. I have to get up and leave the house every morning, and work with people or I will go nuts...feel me?

Congrats! As someone who has an associate, bachelors, and masters from a public school, but now is enrolled at UoP in the MBA program, I can tell you, UoP is way more intense than anything I had to do at the public institutions I went to. There is always something due, every week. I am about 26 weeks from completion of my MBA and I will attest that UoP is no joke compared to public universities I went to.

DAMN! Doin' it...good shit. And yea, it is crazy. Plus, you have the burden of finding a good team to work with. I was blessed for the first year and a half with a bunch of smart ass folks. After we went on to our majors, I ended up with dipshit after dipshit. 40+ year olds who can't speak, don't understand grammar, and can't spell. I even re-wrote group papers entirely at times to make sure I stayed above 94%.

That seems like the one failing of UoP is the damn learning teams. I swear to GOD some people there dont deserve to be in remedial 2nd grade, let alone college. But, ya, that is the one gripe I have. But, otherwise, its cool. Anyone who thinks it is a diploma mill tho, is an idiot who obviously never went to school there (or failed or dropped out due to its rigor). But, ya, congrats.

If you ever decide to, you should do the MBA, its pretty cool. My degrees from public university are in sociology, and since I dont have a PhD, I cant do a damn thing with them; hence the MBA.
