hmmmm either the Oct or Dec date could work... think about it, McCain wins this election but due to fuckin up big time loses the Nov 2012 election to Al Gore... the new Pres doesn't get sworn in until the end of Jan 2013, so that would give McCain plenty of time to start a nuke-fest with Russia out of spite!

but, the hindu culture and many other cultures also expect and understand a change is happening our perception of time is in a way "speeding up"
its never the time itself, because it is NOT an entity is a mathematical sequence based on our own calculations, when the person(or in this case, people) go through a collective change in consciousness, then of course things will seem "changed"

i am a firm believer in an occuring transition because of several things including the end of an age and a begining of a new one, the change in the earths wobble, the suns solar flares at their highest, the earths heartbeat or "time" speeding up, over population, geomagnetic reversal, technological advancement, and most of all the social evolution that is happening before our very eyes, the sun lining up with the axis of our galaxy, ALL happening at the same time.
what i do believe will happen is that the truth will come out on aliens, humanity, religion, etc as we are in a time of revelation. The bs thats been ruinin our lives like our monetary systems and lack of a spiritual essence between humanity, or the lack of the recognition of the oneness of us all, attachment to material things, and the lack of unconditional love shall all return.
it is a shift in consciousness moreso than anything else and the shit you see happening in the world today is simply a cleansing.
