DO YOU OR DONT YOU USE STRATEGY GUIDES?

anyone who uses a guide is pretty gimp of a player for most games, no offense

"its just a video game" is the exact reason. How you gonna use something that tells you ALL the information about the easy video games coming out these days? Its basically like killing off the entire thinking aspect of games and turning you into a mindless zombie who just follows the book. There is NO skill involved at that point, besides hand/eye coordination twitch skills which most games dont even require.

well if thats how you want to think about it go ahead

i have nothing wrong with people who use guides, but its obvious people who dont use them are superior thinkers.

but i cant agree with you on that

i agree with psilo...alot can be said about somebody that has to instantly result to lookin at the answers before even giving it a try for themselves. they can be seen as weak-minded and lazy.on the other hand, a person that takes on a challenge and tries to solve things on his own using their own knowledge and understanding tends to show a little more willpower and intellect in my opinion. its not about the actual strategy guides,its about the mindset.

this can be said for anything,even outside of this subject. all i know is if you look to others for answers and dont discover things for yourself you are going to lead a very boring life...or in this case,a very boring video game

i have never played a boring video game with a strategy guide; if its a great game ill go out and buy the strategy guide and have even MORE fun playing it...to me it steps up the level of gaming another notch....if its an RPG and i dont have a strategy guide for it it probobaly isnt a good game IMO

its a fact that using a strategy guide cuts off the use of a huge majority of the brain cells youd otherwise use while playing a game. therefore youre playing in a much more idle and neutral way, instead of taking an active participation in solving what needs to be solved

so factually, its accurate to say thinking about a game, over reading about one.. leads to "superior thinking" about those situations.

Thats the reason why I made that "superior" comment. I wasnt trying to be a dick, and I dont think im higher above anyone myself. But its not really an opinion that "thinking" leads to "better thinking" - its a fact. So it cant really be argued scientifically

ive used 1 guide my entire time owning a game console and that was gta san andreas. it was the 1st game i ever got stuck on during the airplane levels. besides,theres moves and shit on there that take some looking up to do. if you dont like it,well,fuck it i dont really care! lmao. you guys should chill.
