I'm kinda coo on Mexican rappers like Lil Rob, Mr Shadow, and bitches like "tear drop". I remember LSOB was the shit back in the day...and I'm feelin some darkroom and what not. And Woody, that nigga ain't even latino...he's white and lives in San Leandro..... ;o
Anyway.....the reason I'm not feelin Lil Rob and all them, is because they use nothing BUT oldies for their tracks. I know darkroom has used a few, but not every one of them got Brenton Wood and shit in the background. I think it's pretty disrespectful anyway, because Old School and Oldies weren't about gangs....they sang about love and happiness......(u hear the Al Green in the background?) LoL Anyway, that just my opinion.

oldies is nothing but gang related,thats what kept the music alive for so many years,if you gotta know brentwood does concerts with capone-e and other chicano rappers....eastside story,art laboes,to the varrio with soul,barrio music,all were records put out that were aimed towards gangmembers since back in the 70's..because nobody sopported the music but mexicans who happen to be gangmembers....i aint talking about al green or marvin gaye,im talking about brentwood,etta james,billy stewart,rosie and the originals,the bells i could go on...even today out here in southern cali where the culture of gangbanging and oldies and lowriding was originated in the first place,they have oldie concerts every year,and nothing but gangmembers go to the concerts...it aint no secret what that music represents,,especially out here in southern cali

And as far as the artists themselves, what I was speaking on is that the fact that they should stick to making their own beats, instead of biting others. How many times is Roger and Zapp going to be remixed? Or GQ, or the Delfonics? LOL

Man the best latin rapper is DREW aka TOKZTERO, if you haven't heard him you could hear some of his shit on that VETERANOS cd or PENITENTIARY CHANCES cd'z. He also has a solo out called NORTEcalifaholic, and he might have one comin out on KVE. And of course Darkroom is tight and Lowdown most latin rappers bring heat. As for Mr, Shadow and all them $ur rappers they got decent beats and lyrics are decent . But I'll pass on the $ur rapperz.

I've listened to some older Lil' Rob shit and I didn't dig the oldie beats. I thought the exact same thing: Why not make your own beats? S.P.M. comes with some wickedly tight rhymes. Baby Beesh and Playa J.T. are good, too (but that whole "pimp/playa" shit is old to me.) Mr. Lil' One (I think it's him) rapped pretty good with The Relativez on Tha Dogg Pound's "Smoke."
If the music has too much gang-banging shit in it (giving it up for the "trece" or saying "scrap" repeatedly), I ain't playing it.
