i agree with xxtramanish.. you basically throwin' away your vote... this isn't ice cream... but if it was.. let's say.. i love chocolate.. but half the guys want vanilla and half the guys want strawberry.. now.. if i vote chocolate.. we're not eatin' chocolate.. but.. i like vanilla and hate strawberry.. so.. i already know there is no chance of eatin' chocolate.. but i can easily eat vanilla if i choose it... but instead.. i want to be a maverick and vote chocolate.. and now i'm stuck with strawberry... does that make sense.
Or for the simple fact that you dont have to eat it at all so you dont have to be affected....but with this presidency you will be whether you vote or not...

This means if you dont want to vote for the other candidates you have a choice to vote for someone else that is a write in candidate.

The reason he is only a write in candidate in 3 states is because they did the paperwork in those states to be a write in candidate.

If you are going to write in Ron Paul, you have to write his full name

Ronald Ernest Paul

I like Ron Paul and everything, but why vote for a guy who has no chance? you might as well not even vote.
Even though the main two parties currently dominate the numbers, each year when the amount of people vote for a third party increases, eventually we create another contender. So even if the numbers aren't what we would want, maybe the next election they will even be higher and so on. Even in a loss this elections vote may be one of the most powerful votes an individual can make, and be among those who make an impact on history.

I wonder if this could be possible

There are Four Official Write-In Candidates on the ballot in California: Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party), James Harris (Socialist Workers Party), Frank Moore (independent), and, NOW, RON PAUL! If you write in EITHER of these Candidates, your votes WILL be counted, and the public and the politicians WILL see those numbers.

However, the fact that it is the very state of California has even greater significance. There are 55 electors in California. There are 3 electors in Montana, and 9 in Louisiana, the two states for which Ron Paul is on the ballot. That is a total of 68 total electoral votes which he could potentially win. In a close election, he could actually throw the election to the House of Representatives.

For anyone who has been dissatisfied with the two current choices, or who has been wanting to vote for a 3rd party candidate, but unable, LET EVERYONE YOU KNOW in those three states about their choices. Let your vote count this election!

Can any Ron Paul supporters here (without doing a quick google search) state any of his policies or do you just like his views on 9/11?

Anyone who would seriously in their right mind support another crazy republican from Texas is beyond me. Anyone who would support that fuckin' wacko, nevermind...

From reading some of his stuff online he supports marijuana and would legalize it.

He wants to get rid of the war on drugs because he believes drug addicts should not be treated as criminals but as having a drug problem and should not go to jail for putting stuff in their own body.

He wants to bring home troops from Iraq and 130 countries almost immediately because the US is going bankrupt and the empire is costing us a trillion dollars a year.

He wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve, IRS, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, and other Departments to cut spending to live within our means.

He believes in free markets, he believes the government should not get involved in the markets because it causes problems that we have now in the economy. He believes in less regulation, but not too much regulation.

He believes in the Constitution and that it should be obeyed by every leader in Washington, which he believes they ignore.

He believes the States should be left alone and not be ruled by the Federal Government in Washington. ie: War on Drugs, Abortion, ect.

He believes in Non interventionism, he wants to trade with other countries and not run the world, he does not want to become allies with noone because he believes that brings problems to the US.

Should I keep going?

what's the point of voting for ron paul? aren't we all better off voting for obama instead of wasting votes on someone who doesn't have a realistic chance of becoming president?

typical response: "but if we get enough people to vote for a minor/third party candidate, we CAN make a difference!!"

not in 8 days you aren't, muthafucka. might as well vote for the lesser of two evils, because thats all you can do. don't kid yourselves.

That's plenty of cut & paste, thank you though. Look into Wexler or Kucinich....

California Only Has 4 Declared Presidential Write-in Candidates
October 24th, 2008

California has cumbersome procedures for filing as a declared write-in candidate for president. A slate of 55 presidential elector candidates must file on behalf of any write-in presidential candidate. Each of the 55 candidates must fill out a notarized declaration of candidacy form. However, the presidential candidate need not do anything. The deadline was October 22. The only four slates filed are on behalf of Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party), James Harris (Socialist Workers Party), Frank Moore (independent), and Ron Paul. Therefore, write-ins for president for these four individuals will be tallied.

Candidates for president who are on the ballot in California are Obama, McCain, Barr, Nader, McKinney, and Alan Keyes.

how come he wants the illegalization of abortion?
isn't it the woman's right to bear a child?

collapse, i understand you want a hero in all of this but every politician/corporation etc, is just as fucked up as the other.

look beyond what you think will fix your problems right now.

society is one nasty pimple, imo

..and it needs to be popped.

He's against abortion, but it doesnt mean hes going to push his views on you. He believes the Federal Government should stay away from abortion, he believes the States should make their own laws on abortion. Get it?

Hero? WTF? But if you look at his voting record youre going to see that Dr Paul voted more against spending and against raising your taxes.

look beyond what you think will fix your problems right now.
I have, i recently found this guy and he shares my views, I believe he can change things. Not Obama or McCain.

I agree, just like the government shouldve let the banks and corporation go bankrupt.

naw i don't.
why should i, as a FREE human being, be forced to give birth to something i do not wish to for any reason?
why should that at all be in question?

when at any time should we let men and women who we don't know to legalize or illegalize removing something from inside yourself?

Hero? WTF? But if you look at his voting record youre going to see that Dr Paul voted more against spending and against raising your taxes.
yes because our tax dollars are pouring into warfare. so what is he gonna do for my children's public education? what about when i become a teacher? will i be getting a better salary than the people building bombs for Iraq and the politicians that sit back and make more rules for people to 'live by'?
I have, i recently found this guy and he shares my views, I believe he can change things. Not Obama or McCain.
your late on the train, everyone here already knows about him.
I agree, just like the government shouldve let the banks and corporation go bankrupt.

no, your missing what i am saying. there SHOULD be no ruling government, no one to tell me that i can't plant a seed here or there, or whatever i wish, no one to reprimand me if i choose not to give birth to a live child. the sooner people realize how free they are suppose to be, just by BEING they will soon abandon their hopes and fears in the society they currently live in.
