Cali is notoriously known for Gansta Rap that came outta cali. Before NWA there was no gangsta Rap, after that then thats when the rest of the country followed along with gangsta rap. Cali is just known for the LA Gang Scene BAy Area San Diego and a few other places, its a unique type of Gangsterism is what i think whatever his name was tryna say. Other states around the country are gangsta too just in a different way is all; When ppl think of Gangsta Rap or Gangs in general they think of the LA San Diego Bay Area atmosphere Crips n Bloods.
And about how authentic a rapper is when they say they gangsta or how they used to Bang n shit, if they did put in work or not or ride for they set/blocc/hood/side etc. once they in the rap game you dont wanna still be going around doing that shit cuz then you gonna end up in prison and for what so you can prove your gangsta. If i got into the rap game and i bang(for example) ima stop like banging on the streets and be working on my fukin muzicc, and w/e i did or didnt do for my set blocc etc. is gonna between me myself and I i would be fukin tellin it n shit to press and all i would incorporate in my songs n shit but that would be it. I wouldnt be no Knuckle head and still be banging on the streets when im tryna make muzicc and get those Dead Prez. They shoudnt have to go around and glamourize gangsta life or brag about what they did or didnt do or what happened or didnt happen to them to the media. Keep it in they muzicc
