No, I understand that the master track gets its own fader when you create it, but technically it isn't getting a DEDICATED fader. Whats happening is the fader is split, ganged/grouped according to what you're doing, and imho thats a waste of time and effort. What if you accidently overwrite the automation because you forgot you were on that channel/track? Yes, you can automate using the fader once teh master track has been assigned to it, but can you automate the knob that controls the master volume?
