No, I understand that the master track gets its own fader when you create it, but technically it isn't getting a DEDICATED fader. Whats happening is the fader is split, ganged/grouped according to what you're doing, and imho thats a waste of time and effort. What if you accidently overwrite the automation because you forgot you were on that channel/track? Yes, you can automate using the fader once teh master track has been assigned to it, but can you automate the knob that controls the master volume?

Shit I have no idea...

If you have more then 8 tracks in your session you'll have to flip pages to get to the rest of your tracks anyway, so it really doesn't bother me either way...

if I find an option wit more faders ill run wit it along wit the rack, but if not I aint sweatin the master fader issue, since I've already gotten used to it

The 03 is pretty dope to me the console was modeled after the ICON systems. For those who don't no they are 50g's to over 100,000g's and they also improved the signal path for better sound quality. For those who say it's not worth it it's worth it better mixing, better sound, and also this came from the source of mine that mabey a year or two doen the road we can run TDM Plugins with this? If so I'm all on it.

How so? At the AD stage? DA stage? Clock?

For those who say it's not worth it it's worth it better mixing, better sound
See above.

And the ability to run TDM plugins would not be exclusive to these machines (003) either.

Same price tag as the units they are phasing out. How much improvment do you really expect?

^I doubt they changed much as far as sound quality is concerned in any stage, I guess someone will have to get one and try it out to really know cuz the specs didn't suggest any real changes. They look cool though. I think I'd still rather have a project mix or a fireface 800 for the price. too bad the RME piece can't run pro tools cuz I heard thats the best interface out right now

^more ins and outs better converters, Adat. Smpte, more quality preamps. and about 500 to 1200 bucks depending on if you get the control surface or not

Personally I think if i had the cash i'd get a project mix over the 003

well large diaphragn condensers are what you primatily use for vocals but there are some dynamic mics like the 57s 58 that can pretty much be used for anything. I actually love vocals done on an electrovoice RE-20, which is widly used in broadcast. Great for people with some bass in their voice

^nah no preamp or compressor but i have no money and im using it at school so im making due. once shit is mixed there wont be much difference. i have used some top quality equiptment at "expressions" and yeah that million dollar mixing board and them pre amps sound crystal clear. but if you get a good mix on a good mic u can get it to sound pretty good with very little difference. i mean its just rap vocals it aint like its a whole live band and all that shit.
