Speaking of 'Town Bizness", has anyone noticed that this track is MIA from mixshow rotations also? Is it because of sample issues with Lucas or what? Just curious.

Maybe that's the case with 16's but what I stated about BA is the truth...not a conspiracy. Maybe some of the artist that know about this situation won't vouch being that they don't want to catch the backlash for not kissing KMEL's ass, but I am not one of them...and if 16's was such a novelty (and you label it so with such sterness) then why in the hell was you playing it back to back to back to back like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread? Did Big Von force you to do it? The way you type that can't be possible. The fact is most singles have a cheesy novelty effect to them...that's what kinda makes them singles. You try to act as if there arn't politics to radio when there are...radio is more so based on politics then good music...and that's sad. Now if BA puckers up and explains himself to KMEL's aprovel then I bet you will here that novelty song getting spins again.

You cats atacck Scotty like he is the PD or something. And while radio is politically motivated (Political = money), so is just about every other decision made in the music industry. How do you know that no one was feelin' BA's song anymore? Is that possible? Also is it possible with how many cats complain about not getting played on the radio that maybe their shit is just garbage and they dont have the proper machine to market their product?

And Im not kissing ass. I worked for Clear Channel. I know that there's less of a conspiracy than everyone thinks.

im not attacking anyone, and i kinda know what a "novelty" song is, i guess it has to do with it being a bay song, and "16's" is obviously more one than "town bizness" is, but, what about all the other songs that get played out, and i'll hear being played at the same time on both stations? And, im not just having a bay area bias here, i mean, really played out, like 4 or 5 times a day for 3 months.

Eventually George Lucas would've heard something about 16's wit me and filed a lawsuit against Ya Boy that would take about 200 years for his family to pay off.

first off...ill speak on the BA shit.. we played it for 3 months hard.... it blew up quick, but started to slack off in response.. i thought the song was ill... but being based on the petey pablo made it more of a "mixtape" type track, ya know... which never last that long.. from the git we supported BA, showed him love etc.. and then he did an interview dissin us, and the management wasnt havin that...why diss us when we tyrin to make ur record work? we dont need anyone to kiss our ass, but why openly diss us... i hold nothin against him.. but we all fel kinda disrespected. why help someone who obviously doesnt want our help. so we stopped playin it. sorry.

2nd -16s was hot..for a second... u can hate all u want, but being based on the StarWars shit, u knew it wasnt gonna last... the requests for it stopped.. believe it or not..the requests for USHER havent stopped..even after a million fuckin spins... the research on usher is still big..but 16s came in near last.. people got sick of it fast....let it die down...breathe..and we can begin hittin it again when its cooled off, and theres no backlash... just radio science. maybe artists should learn it a bit.

3rd - i dunno if Lucas found out or not, but I wouldnt wanna take that chance..he got dr Dre for 3 million..and Dre has big lawyers...lol..

look..noone knocks down artists.. but u gotta have some good music... there less politics when it comes to the mixshows and such...rotation (where it plays all day etc) is a different story..u gotta be able to justify the airtime with a good street buz etc... but in the mixshows we try to expose new music... thas what its for..but im not just gonna throw out some crap either... its gotta be good..

ear2dastreets..i respect ur opinions, and welcome any comments.... but please be factual and theres no need to attack people. we just tryin to play good music...i been a bay fan since the 80s, and im just tryin to give back..we all have muddy waters to navigate..politics, radio etc... just gettin thru is tough..but u have to start somewhere.. why tear me down? what have u done lately.

Good chop, Scotty Fox, but at first you said that it was just because the song got played out and it had nothing to do with the other station or some crazy consp...now you are saying, "we all felt disrespected...so we stoped playin it"...

Man Quinn was talking about what 2pac was saying at the end of Northern California, you aint got to kiss no ass on the radio make a hot song and people kiss YOUR ass Period! 16's had its run, when it was HOT, it was HOT people were callin in, etc etc, its still hot with the mixtapes on the street and thats al that matters, people need to quit worrrying about Radio so much and get the streets behind you thats who is in the club and they will walk up to the DJ and ask for your shit much better than a call in request ask scotty! Niggas come up and ask for shit all the time..

it was a combo of both..the song had a good 3 month run, but was already declining.. it was on its way out anyways, just hastened a bit by the drama.. my bad for not being more clear.

also, addin to what Chuck said...he's right..since when did radio become the end-all and be-all of the industry.... the streets dictate whats hot...i had heard about white tess by Keak for months before i got my hands on it to play on air...the streets knew it was hot..i had to go find it! back in the day..the bay wasnt gettin much airplay either...but artists like Spice 1 and RBL and San Quinn were still sellin.... the streets knew, and the streets talked... get your story up in the streets, get ur buzz up... do some work, put some effort, be out, meet the people...dont just mail me a CD and expect to become big. Lot of factors have to come together for that to happen... dont rely on us..we rely on YOU to make the hot music.

very good reading here.......especially what Chuck said.....everyone is talking, but no walking.....

shit needs to hit the streets first...not the radio.....like Scotty said....he goes and looks for the shit after he see's what kind buzz it got going......

and that brings me to another whole diff subject.....artist who make a song/album, keep it on the low, no promotion, "make sure no one get's a copy of it", dont let no one listen to it.....drop it...and expect it to blow up and hit the radio automatically.....lol.....what happened to handing out promo's, snippets, singles?
