I need to give up rappin', cause according to these cats, you can't be good at English and be involved with rap, LOL!!

Most of these cats don't even understand half the shit that's bein' said these days. Young ass muthafuckaz that think they own the world and know about everything in it. I used to be arrogant and ignorant just like some of these folks, when I was 12 & 13.

I'm not gonna go over this again. If you didn't see my reason, that's your bad. Go back through this thread and you may get your answer, if not, oh well, it's right there in plain text. Actually, since you seem to be blind, here you go...

Stressed in VERB form...

stressed, stress·ing, stress·es

1. To place emphasis on: stressed basic fire safety.
2. To give prominence to (a syllable or word) in pronouncing or in accordance with a metrical pattern.
3. To subject to physical or mental pressure, tension, or strain.
4. To subject to mechanical pressure or force.
5. To construct so as to withstand a specified stress.

In order for the word to be SLANG, it would have to have the same meaning as the word replaced. (Actually, a lot of the time slang is used in a derogatory manner...and if not, it is usually a group of words made up at some point in time, but along the same lines as the original word, i.e fa sheezy=fa shizzle=fa sho=for sure)

To say, is to pronounce something aloud....not quite the same meaning as stressed.

Like I said, you can use a term all you want, that doesn't mean it won't be used out of context.

I'm done with this thread now.

I haven't tried to redeem myself once, no redemption necessary. I've been kickin facts and facts only, that's it. Like it or not, like me or not, I could give a shit, I'm not here to impress folks, and if I was I wouldn't stick to my guns. I'm here to be straight up about things, if you can't swallow it go get some sugar from somebody else.

Like I said, y'all cats don't know me, so it's not like there's truth to any of the shit you say about me.

UP TO THIS POINT I WAS JUST BEIN' SILENT, BUT SOMEBODY NEED TO QUIT SUCCIN' THEY OWN DIK AND THINKIN' THEY KNOW IT ALL. IF I USE THE WORD "STRESS" I'M THE MUTHA-FUKA USIN' THAT TERM AND I USE IT TO QUOTE WHAT MUTHA-FUKAS SAID. IF YOU STRESS SOMETHIN', THAT MEANS IN SOME KIND OF FORM OR FASHION, YOU EXPRESSED THAT, SO THAT'S WHAT I'M CONVEYIN' WHEN I PUT "YOU STRESSED". AIN'T NO SCIENCE TO THAT. IF YOU WANNA gET YOUR SQUARE BEAR ON AND SPEAK OF VOCABULARY, VERB USAgE, ANNUNCIATION, SYMANTECS, AND ALL THAT, THEN DO THAT. JUST DON'T EXPECT TO BE VALIDATED ON THE LEVEL.

AND FOR THE RECORD,
N-E-BODY THAT USES PREDOMINANT EAST COAST SLANg AND FROM THE WEST COAST IS A FOLLOWER AND A WEENIE.

Sydal you make no sense at all. You said the following:

"In order for the word to be SLANG, it would have to have the same meaning as the word replaced."

I can think of a gang of slang words that contradict this "theory" of yours. You can start with WHIP or HAMMER. Better yet can you tell me why white people (the majority of them who I've heard say it) eaquate COCK with a dick while black people use cock in reference to puss?

please explain slang boy

If I'm wrong with the above statement you quoted, so be it, I stand corrected, but that doesn't take away from the fact that STRESSED is not a slang word for SAID...

WHIP and COCK, are 2 of the goofiest words (the way they are used TODAY), that I have ever heard. I don't know who started using those words in the context they are used, and it makes no sense to me. To each his own I guess.

EDJ, you need to take it easy, go back and read where I said I was just fuckin around until cats started jumpin all on it, they had nothing to do with what was said. If I was addressing them I would have said their name, but I guess some cats don't get it, they like bein up in other folks business cause they have none of their own. So, whatever you say pimp.

By the way, about the "East Coast Terminology", I've been sayin' KID and SON since 1987, due to the fact I came up around folks from NY who said it on a regular basis, shit sticks with you when you're young and a lot of the time it follows you into adulthood. So, I mean, think what you will, ain't nothin.

L Mac, Word is Bond...and that is not an East Coast Hip Hop saying like 90% of you cats think, that shit goes way back. Look into it a little bit more and you'll understand the saying.

Y'all some funny style cats!!

slang (n.)

A kind of language occurring chiefly in casual and playful speech, made up typically of short-lived coinages and figures of speech that are deliberately used in place of standard terms for added raciness, humor, irreverence, or other effect.

STRESSED is NOT a short-lived coinage OR a figure of speech...however, it IS a STANDARD TERM!!

I'm glad I could make you laugh, but I bet I'm laughing harder.

False.

That's all good, I don't say WORD IS BOND anyhow. I have folks that say it who came out here from New York, but I personally never have used it in conversation. What's the big deal anyway? Like people in New York don't say things that we say out here?

And YES, I'm a rapper, that doesn't mean I'm gonna go say WHIP and COCK, I never said it before so why start now? Is that in every rappers vocabulary? Most rappers say DICK (or pussy), and ride...and only recently has WHIP become a cool term to use, in the past couple years. I try to refrain from using certain words because everybody else uses 'em. Whip, chopper, etc. Should I talk about chrome spinners too? Or how cool my car is? Or what kinda jewels I'm wearing? I don't follow the trend, I do my own thing.

False.
I did say....

"If I'm wrong with the above statement you quoted, so be it, I stand corrected"

I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong...

If you were to just use a word in place of another, when the 2 words have completely different meanings, people may look at you weird.

Slang like Bitch, asshole, etc. exist, but those are pretty explainable. Who would want to be a bitch or an ass??

But yea, ok, you could technically make any term slang, might not make sense to people, but you could do it.

So, I stand corrected on that...
