DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC AT WORK

I'm a manager at a movie theater right more or less in the middle of downtown Seattle. We get all kinds of crazy folks. Homeless fools trying to shoot up dope in the bathroom and ODing (two times in the three years I been there) dudes beating their girls in the fucking movie theater, fist fights, celebrities coming in, and just crazy people in general. It gets pretty nuts sometimes but I love it.
One dude once asked me if he could work security for us because he used to be a major league baseball player that now worked for the FBI. Told me he could "slide tackle people" that tried to cause trouble. The guy was like 5'3 and sounded like he just took a hit of helium. Then while I'm talking to him to try to get him out of the place he says someone just pulled a gun on him lol. I was like "what, I'm looking right out you, no they didn't" then he ran down the escalator and out of the building. That was the most recent crazy I had to deal with about a week ago.
We also have a crazy bag lady that talks to the movie posters and video games (but she spends lots of money so we dont kick her out lol), a guy that looks like Don Rickles and always asks way out questions like "do you know if there are any guitar playing athiest females in the world?", and a lady that says she is Shirley Temple. And those are just the regular nut jobs that come in all the time.
I also can't count the times I thought I was going to have to defend myself against drunken idiots. They almost always are full of shit though and leave. Only once have I been swung at and dude missed and I put him in a arm bar and it was bad luck for him because after 6pm we have off duty cops. I felt kind of bad for dude going to jail over something as stupid as trying to sneak into a movie, but when you are over 18 and still try to sneak in, you're a fucking moron to begin with.

No drug testing, they do due background checks but only to make sure you don't have convictions for theft and/or robbery because you work with a lot of money. We have quite a few people with felonies that work at my place so if it's not for one of those two you should be cool.
If only starting at 6pm you would prob. only be a door man or usher seeing that bar (popcorn,etc) usually starts around 4pm or 5pm.
You really don't get one set postion, you get trained in everything and then we kind of find where you workout the best and you get mostly those shifts.

^thats cool, yeah my felony's from 98.. but when i first moved out here i was messing with this dumb bitch and she got caught stealing some earrings at southcenter and they were being some dicks about and said i was an accompliance or some shit and now i got a 3rd degree theft charge, so thats been fucking me up trying to find a job..so i guess that wouldnt work then..good lookin though
yeah, working at a theater for almost 5 years I had hella shit happen.....its hella fun tho, cuz every week there something happens....we had a few deaths there.....one guy died watching that movie where chris rock is an angel....that was kinda ironic...and after they were trying to get the body out from in front of the exit but the movie ended before they could take him, so we had to try and keep all the people IN the theater....lol....another guy got shot up inside the theater by SFPD, on the news cast afterwards the reporter is outside the movie house while "what's the worst that can happen?" keeps scrolling across the marquee......had a guy that used to come into the theaters to jack off....we used to call him "the jacker"....the fucked up thing is that we couldn't really catch him, and when we did the police wouldn't do anything about it because he wasn't "caught in the act"......so one of our managers had to go "undercover" to make sure he was indeed jackin it
i work as a cashier at a gas station. most people are alright, but every now and again i get a motherfucka who comes up to me while talking on a cellphone. the worst is when they stay on the conversation and just stand in front of me for ten minutes talking.
some teenagers also try to wait outside and get some customer to buy them swishers. i give whoever the customer is a broken down expired philly cigar. the adult usually aint familiar with swishers so they accept it. i laugh my ass of when the adult gives the philly to the kid and the kid is all like "what the fuck is this??"

Im sayin right if i goto the store say im buyin video game or some new gear ect...that i saw was on sale..I don't get mad at person at the register for ringin that shit at full price but i do explain to them hey man thats not right price it is...I blame the muthafucas whos was suspose put in the system who were too lazy to...now ya got cashir feelin dumb its not his/her fault its the person fault who didn't put the shit in systems fault.. thats why i couldn't work the register... Had this one cat he was super cool about it. i got two x-box 360 controller were suspose 80 bucks for 2 wireless...but came be 103 told what was up showed him the add..he sold them both for 60 so i payed 30 each...See i think alot people forget people are just doin they job ya just got too show them the same respect you whould want.. shit should be ok for most part seems now a days in a store no one has no home training with manors and shit
