De la Hoya will win a decision. I am pulling for Vargas though but after I see how De La Hoya whipped Trinidad I don't think Vargas can hang with De la Hoya. De la Hoya has skills and Vargas has the heart. But I'll take Oscar in an decision.

When I first seen that fight I thought Trinidad won. And then when I watched it again De La Hoya clealry out boxed Trinidad. Oscar landed more punches and the harder ones.

I am not a big Jones fan, but he does not run for entire rounds, and his movement is to create space. Oscar's movement was to coast and get away from Tito. As for the Whittaker statement, thats how Sweet Pea fought, but he would do enough going backwards to beat you, plus his defense was so good that while you are coming after him you dont land a thing, and he dots you with crisp counters and jabs all round, those were things Oscar did not do in the last rounds. Watch the Oscar/Whittaker fight, Pernell went backwards almost the entire fight but he out threw, landed, and percentaged Oscar in punches, plus he scored a knockdown and still lost the fight.
so what should happen (decision wise barring knowkdowns or point deductions) if you win eight rounds and then run the last four like DLH did. i mean if your job is to win fights make money and try to minimize damage to yourself in the process tell me who wouldnt fight the fight the same way.

i mean this is what i have seen throughout my few years of watching boxing. if a mexican or non black latino fights a smart fight he is labled as a runner or a coward (delahoya), but if a black guy or a black latino does the same thing he is considered an intelligant fighter (camacho sr and jr, whittiker, casamayor, roy jones, ect...)

^^^^ EXACTLY AND THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONSHIP WAS ON THE LINE IF IM NOT MISTAKEN. WELL I KNOW AT LEAST BOTH TRINIDAD AND DE LA HOYA HAD BELTS ON THE LINE. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW WAS DE LA HOYA A COWARD IN ANY WAY TRINIDAD COULDNT CONNECT IN ANY WAY, DE LA HOYA OUT BOXED HIM IN ALL WAYS NOT JUST ONE WAY, I DONT KNOW IF YOU LISTENED TO THE END OF THAT FIGHT BUT FOREMAN PREDICTED DE LA HOYA TO KNOCK OUT TRINIDAD IF THEY FOUGHT AGAIN, THATS HOW BADLY DE LA HOYA DOMINATED AND FOREMAN WOULDNT MAKE A PREDICTION LIKE THAT IF DIDNT THINK HE COULDNT FOREMANS A GENIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO BOXING MATCHUPS AND SHIT LIKE THAT!!!

Foreman is not as smart as he likes to think. He said James Page was tops pound for pound. He is good to have along with the Lampley and Merchant, and he knows a lot about what fighters are doing in the ring but prognosticating is not George's strong suit.

As for the Tito/Oscar fight I think you are missing my points. I had him winning, but in a championship fight in todays day and age of Boxing, unless you KO the other fighter nothing is for sure. Also dont confuse good defense and a different style with what Oscar did in the Tito fight. When you turn and run to the side to get away from someone, that is much different than backing up and jabbing. Tito did nothing in that fight period. If not for Don King he gets the loss, but if Oscar closes out the fight and wins 2 of the last 4 rounds, we are not having this disscussion.

As for the comments about fighters being smart and not cowards for running. The Camacho's have always been looked down on especially Junior Camacho who has earned the nickname "cuntmacho". It also depends on the style you fight with normally, in Oscar's case a straight forward Boxer with angles and great counters. Then he changes and runs, people will down you for it. Point is that in the championship rounds thats when champions seal their wins. Oscar got on his bike and opened himself up to all of this. Yes he won the fight, but not in the record books and the reason he did lose was because he coasted.
