I'm 99% positive the winner will fight Floyd next. Simple lack of opponents / big names.
Pac, Bradley, Marquez with top rank so cross them off the list.
Keith Thurman just isnt there yet.
Devon Alexander actually would be a solid opponent, but I just dont think the powers that be would want him headlining a PPV against Floyd (because it would be a tough sell).
Amir Khan would be a very big name, but he's looked bad recently.
The rest of the 154 pound guys just dont have a name - Lara, Trout, etc.
So really that only leaves Matthysse/Garcia.

I think Bob Arum mentioned that a Pac vs Floyd fight is possible in Asia. Something tells me it's going to happen cuz shosports will loose money after this ppv with money may. All I know is that Floyd has ran out of mexicans to fight on mexican holidays so I do view this as his last big fight unless something drastic happens with TR and HBO, which I doubt. May was forced into this fight and let's all just see what happens after that. ps Mathysse will get robbed and Garcia will win to set up for next year. GBP and Mayweather fucked up bigtime.

Canelo PPV is going to do massive numbers. Sure, Showtime lost $750k for the Guerrero fight but they'll more than make that up from the Canelo PPV.

After that, yeah then it starts getting real tricky to have another 1 million + buys. But that's a couple fights away who knows what happens maybe someone like Thurman establishes himself, maybe Bradley breaks away from Top Rank if he beats JMM. can't tell yet.

@battle619 You must be out ur fucken mind. This Mayweather/Canelo fight is gonna make a killing. Do you even realize how many fans Canelo has? I thought GBP would avoid this fight at all costs to keep Canelo on top as long as possible but as far as ppv sales this fight made the most sense. lol 2-0 beat me to the fight in Asia thing (didnt see ur post till after i posted), no way in hell the fight would be outside of Vegas

Yeah it's going to do real good numbers, my guess around 1.6-1.7 million.
I still think it would do even better numberw on HBO. They just do a better job at promoting fights imo. Plus, I still hear from people that say things like "oh I don't have showtime I guess I cant order the ppv" some people still dont understand anyone can buy a ppv you don't need showtime lol.

I actually think Showtime is doing a great job as far as promoting this fight the entire would is buzzing. HBO just feels dead and old at this point. the only thing that sucks is that floyd couldn't bring 24/7 with him because that all access is pure shit. Even the ufc's "primetime" is a better produced show for hyping up fights. I think it does 2 million buys. Matthysse gets floyd for cinco de mayo next year after he lays out that swaggerless cornball garcia.
Yeah, I doubt it does that high of numbers either. The promotional machine knows how to maximize buys better than it did then but it also had 24/7 for the first time. They were on the cover of SI and in Men's Health. The ads were EVERYWHERE for that fight. To be fair though, Floyd is the biggest moneymaker in the sport and Canelo is more well known than Floyd was then to the mainstream public I'd say, so maybe this fight does better than I'm thinking.

It's going to take a hit since TWC hasn't renewed their contract with Showtime, so now Showtime can't advertise their fight though the second largest provider in the US.
I think it will have a big impact on numbers. The PPV will still do well, but what a blow if they dont settle soon.

I didn't mean this fight, I meant ppv's after this fight. I do think it will reach 2 milli tho cuz Mathysse vs Garcia is one helluva undercard, and that's what GBP is hoping for. But if they get like 1.5 or less, all I got to say is money talks and don't be surprised with anything that happens after that.

I don't think the promos are that big of a deal since all that shit is being seen online. These programs are doing a shitty job of promoting anything anyways but us fans on the internets are promoting it for them right now. It's still a ppv and I doubt any cable company will not show a $80 ppv event
