Hop has stated numerous times he's not horrorcore. He has dark subject matter thrown in most of the time for humor or to express pain.
Hop is just overall a dope rapper.

Wow I just asked a question bout the horrorcore thing and it dominated the thread. What's wrong with that title? I thought the beef with the label dude was a promo stunt, just like the contacts.
