Agreed. Basically, I think of No Limit's history as divided into three parts (just my opinion):
1. '93 up to early '97--The Richmond/Bay Years (GHETTO'S TRYIN' TO KILL ME up to about WEST COAST BAD BOYZ #2). NL's best period, IMHO. Hard beats, hard lyrics...Never heard a NL CD from this period that I didn't like (I haven't heard Sonya C's...I've been told that it sucked, but I wouldn't know).
2. Early '97 to early '99--More polished and slightly less consistent (lyrically) than the Bay years, but still basically dope. These CDs had a more Southern flavor sound-wise and would usually have 2-3 "commercial" sounding tracks, but the other 14-15 songs were usually still hard and dope (although Big Ed's and Skull Duggrey's CDS were disappointments)...
3. Mid-'99 to the present--P gets desperate after losing BBTP and tries to mimick Cash Money's more dance-oriented efforts...This stuff just seems amateurish compared to the previous two periods--only CDs I could get into from this period were Mo B. Dick's solo, Mac's WW3, and parts of C-Murder's TRAPPED IN CRIME.

one thing yall need to remember is master p is a mainstream artist, he knows how to sell. he knows how to be mainstream and mainstream is a shady buisness, to be man stream you gotta be somewhat shady and not care about other people.

No Limit is dead ass fucc cuzz. Its over for Master P. C Murder gone, Mac gone, Soulja SLim gone, Magic Gone, Kane and Abel gone,Mercedes gone, Mia X gone, Mr. Serv on gone, Sam and Popeye gone, D.I.G gone, Snoop gone, Mystikal gone, Sons of Funk gone. Fiend gone, Lil Italy gone, Beats by the Pound gone. No wonder why P got soo much bread. He stole everyones money.
Yeah, I remember Sons of Funk. That was a nice CD. What you described happening to them was really foul...those guys could sing (they were like a combination of the Isleys and Jodeci). RAP PAGES had a story profiling all the NL rappers in '98, and in their Sons of Funk profile, it was revealed that those four could play their own instruments, too. I wouldn't mind hearing them again (although I 'd bet their experience w/P probably made them bitter).

Everyone has his or her opinions but I definitely DISAGREE with askG sayin that the talents of Lil' Romeo are unbelievable. How can they be unbelievable if ya ain't writin' ya own shit to begin with? I also DEFINITELY agree with MeloTrauma and how he never understood No Limit's "appeal," which to me is all based on MARKETING. P has the ability to make a star out of any artist because he hypes them up to believe they are the shit from album covers to whatever. Master P and Romeo is what Jermaine Dupri was to Bow Wow (I'm glad Bow broke away from that nigga) and as far as Magic being a "no-name," he don't need bitch ass P jerkin' him, hell I met Magic when he came to Miles College to promote his independent album "On My Own" and he's still the shit with or without P. I also agree with Locster that No Limit is dead...why? Because P buried it with that bullshit rap he has and then takin' his artists' money. P is the definition of a shady and greedy label owner because when ya look back, there's not an album from his artists that he doesn't appear on with his weak verses.
