Some of you may recall laughing at me when I predicted last pre-season that da bears would win “at least 11, maybe 12” games (they would have won 12 if they didn’t throw their final game vs. Minnesota).

This year I see no reason why they shouldn’t be able to do the same (assuming there are no serious injuries of course), if not better.

One little unheard of stat from this year is that the Bears return all 22 starters from last year's team -- a shocking development in today's NFL. This means most all the players have experience working together and are familiar with the team.

There still remains a question at the QB position between Grossman and Griese. Lovie Smith has stated Grossman will start, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Greise ends up starting and does a better job than the unproven and injury prone Grossman.

With the style of Bears football, all the QB needs to do is protect the ball and stretch the field occasionally. Griese should have no problem at all fitting right in.

At RB, surprisingly Benson has been named the starter even though Thomas Jones rushed for over 1,300 yards last season (the most da bears have seen since Walter Payton), despite the fact that every defense they played knew the ball was going to Jones the majority of the plays, since Kyle Orton was starting QB and cant throw for shit.

If healthy, I predict both RB’s battling for the starting position and both contributing greatly to the offense. A great one-two punch.

As far as their defense goes, it should be much of the same as last year but even better considering the experience they all have with eachother. Their D should rank #1 in the NFL.

As demonstrated against the Charges and Rashied Davis' 100 yrd kickoff return, their special teams once again should be in a class of it’s own and will produce points and great field position.

Their main weakness appears to be WR depth, only Muhsin Muhammad has proven himself as a reliable WR. But is it really a concern with this style of football?

They will easily win their conference- Minnesota, Green Bay and Detroit (all with rookie coaches) suck ass. They should finish the year with one of the best records in the NFC.

Lovie Smith stated their goal is to win the superbowl this season. They definitely should be contenders and my guess is the NFC will come down to the same teams as last year (Seattle, Carolina, Tampa Bay (possibly Dallas, but unlikely)).

Schedule:

Sep 10 @Green Bay
Sep 17 Detroit
Sep 24 @Minnesota
Oct 1 Seattle XXXXXX
Oct 8 Buffalo
Oct 16 @Arizona
Week 7 BYE
Oct 29 San Francisco
Nov 5 Miami ??
Nov 12 @N.Y. Giants XXXXXX
Nov 19 @N.Y. Jets
Nov 26 @New England XXXXXX
Dec 3 Minnesota
Dec 11 @St. Louis
Dec 17 Tampa Bay XXXXXX
Dec 24 @Detroit
Dec 31 Green Bay

I placed X’s next to the games that pose any real trouble, ? next to Miami because who fucking knows how they’ll turn out this year. They have a real tough road trip in November which could cause trouble, but overall their schedule looks pretty good if your a bears fan.

Great potential for this team if they can get some WR play and keep Grossman healthy I agree.

I wanna see more of Devin Hester. The QB and RB jobs are both up fpr grabs which should not be the case for a team that is supposed to be doing big things. I know the BEars veterans are all siding with Jones at RB and for good reason. Griese has looked confident and capable in limited preseason play. D is not a question. 12-4 is solid I could see it with a 1 game bump up or down.

I'm with you man, I'd start Griese which I honestly think will happen. If not by the start of the season, by week 2 or 3.
This is true....

But its their running game that has to set the tone...Da Bears have always been a pound-em-in-between-the-tackles kinda team...and once they do that...they can begin to get Griese in rythym....

To who?Minnesota and Green Bay do NOT look good...Brett needs to retire ASAP....and Minnesota lost alot and are turning young again...Detroit will win 6-8 games this year MAYBE....but none of them wins will be against the Bears...

^^He's currently on the Bills. He had a couple of good seasons with da bears but has been plagued with injuries which is why Thomas Jones took over as starter (that and the fact he's a better RB).

He was on the Saints last year and only played a few games.

Looks like da bears went out and got themselves an offense.

I know it was against Green Bay, but Grossman looked sharp.

Oh yeah, that was the first time Farve has been shut out in his entire career, and it happened at home. Bears D is better than last year.

First time since 91 that the Packers have been shutout..

Did you see Favre's numbers???170 yds and 2 INTS....he needs to retire....before he ruins his legacy any further...
