you think 56k is bad? i'm D/L'n all 3 of these slumps right now connecting at 24k (gotta love living 27,653 feet from the CO [central office]) .....for those of you that don't know...... its ideal to be as close to the CO as possible, but at least within 15,000 feet from the CO to have DSL work. Cable, on the other hand doesnt have the length restriction that DSL does, but my cable provider doesnt provide cable internet access. so my last 2 options are 1. get satellite internet that will work like shit when its cloudy, rainy, or snowy and also costs too much. 2. connect at 24k and take 64 minutes to download the new dividenz cut.
im going to 2nd that notion

{for those of ya that dont know what the hell im talkin bout a central office is a local office where subscriber home and business lines are connected on the "local loop". The central office has switching equipment that can switch calls locally or to long-distance carrier phone offices}
