I think it is better then l.a.x dont get me wrong l.a.x is a good album but Cube had me more interesting while listening.

That dude Doughboy featured on the raw footage album is tight imo he outshinned Cube on that track. Isnt that his nephew?

thats his son!

I'll do that once Gayme starts supporting the left side of the map and stops sucking the east coast dick with features.

games and his are knockin pick up both support the left side of the map...
How to ride Gayme's nuts 101. You use the word "hater" too loosely. I love the west coast and west coast music. I hate west coast artists who talk about "bringing the west coast back etc." but then put out an album full of east coast features. It seems like someone who supposedly has love and pride in the west coast would have features from the west coast. Instead, he is riding the east coast' nuts trying to generate more sales for himself. To me, that's nothing more than a pop star. I'll continue to support west coast music, but not east coast nutriders.

^^see thats what i dont understand from some people...more beats on the game cd sounded west coast, than on cubes cd. I dont give a fuck how hard cube was REPPING the west coast, alot of beats were on some south shit, tryin to balance out the sound.
@Wallnutz...most the features were for hooks...aint nothing wrong with that. Better than other artists who try to sing themselves.
Does that make for the production on Games album not being good? i myself was hoping Cubes album would have a lot more Westcoast slaps but its a lot better then LAX

beats not being good?...that all depends on personal taste. There was a couple of beats i really liked, nothing that blew me away really. still better than that annoying shit i heard on cubes though.

Both albums were OK IMO. Ice Cube's is definitely better though I think.

As far as beats sounding WESTCOAST on Cube's album, these are the tracks that standout to me in that regard, ....

It takes a Nation (borderline, kinda wierd tho)

Gangsta Rap Made me do it (True classic WestCoast beat)

Why me (Piano makes it WestCoast sounding, other than that, too dramatic)

Do Ya Thang (organ chords make it WestCoast sounding, it does have that Southern sawtooth lead in it though)

Get Money, Spend Money, No Money (Classic WestCoast beat)

Tommorow (Horn sounding bassline, guitar riff)

Take me away (classic westcoast chords)

Those in BOLD best represent that WESTCOAST sound. That true WestCoast sound is heavy on the Chords, basslines, CLAP or poppin snare hits, softer synth leads, strings...

Overall, I think the production is good on Cube's album. It just ain't the greatest $hit in the West tho, but for being mainstream, it's definitely better than most of the Southern bullshit. It's a start.

That album didnt do good at all. It didnt do what they thought it would.
Ranking: 159
Artist: tech n9ne
Album: killer
Weeks Sales: 4,149
Over All Sales: 72,629

This was as of 08-18-2008, 11:40 AM

Not what they were expecting, but still surprising as a completely independent push. No video, no radio etc.
