The only CB you need to know is Patrick Peterson from LSU. Big, fast, and a ball hawk. Only a Junior, but most say he will be heading to the NFL.

QB's seem to kind of go up and down depending on the week, but most will tell you Mallett (Arkansas), Locker (Washington), and Luck (Stanford) will all be gone by the 2nd round. Sleepers in the 4th or up are Dalton (TCU), and maybe a TJ Yates (North Carolina) or Weeden (Oklahoma State) if he decided to come out this year, which I dont think he will. I haven't seen McElroy (Alabama) mentioned very much, but he has been beyond solid for Alabama his entire stint. However, that could be because he has some of the best talent you can have around him for his tenor. Cousins from Michigan State is another one that is on the rise...but he is also JR. Stanzi from Iowa is a bit of an enigma, in that he has progressed every year and is playing his best ball, yet NO ONE talks about him...but they should. Christian Ponder (Florida State) has been underwhelming this year. Not sure whats up with him.

Then there are a bunch of "athletic" QB's that more than likely will become WR's in the NFL, but maybe one or two could actually be drop back passers...like Griffin from Baylor (but he is only a SO). I dont think Pryor (Ohio State) will leave, as he could use another year of development. Tyrod Taylor (Virginia Tech) has done nothing but be a leader and while he has a canon arm, he has much better legs. Same goes for Nesbitt (Georgia Tech). But, teams will give them a look because they are great athletes. Garcia from South Carolina i dont think will even get drafted, personally. I have never been impressed with him, and he benefits from a GREAT defense.

As far as CB's go...Amukamara Prince from Nebraska is going to play on Sundays....big time CB, as is Ras-I Dowling from Virginia. Both are Projected to go in the first round. Shareece Wright from USC is big and fast and can hit like a freight train. He might serve better as a S in the NFL though. The other highly rated CB is Jenkins from Florida. Chris Rucker from Michigan State is big. Rasheed Carmichael from Virginia Tech runs a sub 4.4 and VT is known for putting defensive guys in the NFL. I haven't seen Davon House from New Mexico play yet, but he is supposed to be a promising one...but his team sucks so much ass that you never get to see him play! Chris Culiver from South Carolina is another big kid who might benefit by moving over to S in the NFL. All these guys could go in the 3rd round or higher.

Check this out:

1. Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado.

He continues to excel in man-to-man coverage and, more important, is playing better off the ball. Smith is reading routes quickly and reacting to the pass, closing in a blink to break up passes. He is not a top-level hitter in run support, but he shows more of a willingness now to come up and tackle.

Entering the season, Smith was considered a third-round pick. Now, he has a 50-50 chance of working his way into the bottom of the first round.

I am just gonna say this once...leave your trolling behavior out of my sports thread, and the sports forum in general. It may be "cute" and "witty" in the open forum, but it gets no play here. Kapeesh?

ANYWAYS

There is a southeast bias, and I can go into a long winded post about it, but i dont really care to.

Huskies at one point, went 28 straight seasons without losing. We have been to the 2nd most Rose Bowls, and won the 3rd most ALL TIME. We have 3 NCG's, most recently in 1991, which is considered by some to be the best team EVER to play college football (and if you dont think there is a SE bias, then explain to me why Miami STILL got voted that year, and we were forced to share that NCG...baffling).

BTW, the Pac-10 has had one of the toughest schedules in the country since the inception of the BCS according to the Saragin poll, which is COMPUTER BASED. So, you fail on the "tough schedule" argument. Thanks.
shut the fuck up bro..
whenever i strike a nerve with you homers i get accused of fucking trolling lol sorry it was in caps.. but seriously
get over yourself, "Husky Fan" no one cares about the 3 times you were actually relevant to the world of college football. you havent mattered since brian bozworth.

what i said in that post was correct:
1. south east conference is the best football in the country
2. oregon has no tradition. thus its get NO RESPECT. period
youre actin like its USC or somthin lol
3. the pac 10 is weak every year, in comparison to the big12 and SEC
regardless of the "strength of schedule" technobabble youre talkin about.

until your schools win year in year out, no one will give a fuck about what the WAC MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE USA PAC10 ever does.. truth hurts.

@GOW

Looks like your the only person that isnt 'respecting' the Ducks, becuz everyone else can't stop talking bout them and their high powered offense and how its BY FAR the best in the Country. Nobody outside OK wants to watch the Sooners play their boring ass football style. While your living in the past with your "tradition" were moving forward and making waves, giving the people something to talk about. OREGON>okhahoma

Translation: "I just got PWNED"

whenever i strike a nerve with you homers i get accused of fucking trolling lol sorry it was in caps.. but seriously
Every-time you get accused of trolling, its because you're trolling. Period. You are NOT shy about trolling. You have OPENLY ADMITTED to trolling. You have been trolling since you were dj synical on here. I find it amusing that you think everyone on here has no clue as to what the fuck you are doing. News flash, sport....you're not as clever and witty as you think you are. F for effort.

get over yourself, "Husky Fan" no one cares about the 3 times you were actually relevant to the world of college football. you havent mattered since brian bozworth.
I care. So, immediately, your theory of "know one caring" us proven to be 100% invalid. Again, F for effort.

PS- We went to the RB in 2001. But, as a college football fan, you knew that...right?

PSS - Brian Bosworth was one of the biggest busts in the NFL history...and a full fledged dick sucking faggot. Thanks for nothing, Sooners.

what i said in that post was correct:
1. south east conference is the best football in the country
Its only the best conference in the country because the media says so.

2. oregon has no tradition. thus its get NO RESPECT. period
No one said they had tradition, you dolt. They get NO RESPECT because they are on the West Coast and arent named USC.

youre actin like its USC or somthin lol
See above.

3. the pac 10 is weak every year, in comparison to the big12 and SEC
They are weak because the media says they are weak.

regardless of the "strength of schedule" technobabble youre talkin about.
You're right, SOS means nothing. I mean, BSU IS CLEARLY the best football program in the 21st century. Thank you for dropping this gold nugget of information upon me, oh wise one. Someone let Coach Peterson know that the BCS has failed to give the NCG trophy for the last 10 years.

until your schools win year in year out, no one will give a fuck about what the WAC MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE USA PAC10 ever does.. truth hurts.
Until the media stops sucking the SEC's dick, no one else is gong to GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU.

Fun fact: The SEC has won more NCG's since 1998 (the first year of the BCS system) then they have won in the prior 30 years. Yeah, that's a total coincidence, aint it?

Let me help you're handi-capped ass out so we can be done with this conversation, and once and for all prove how much of a naive asshole you are when it comes to anything outside Tornado Alley concerning anything football.

The SEC and Big 12 have played MORE FCS schools than ANY OTHER CONFERENCE in the past 5 years. Interesting. What does this mean? Well, this means that teams like Ole Miss, South Carolina, LSU, etc. can play cupcakes for the first 5 weeks of the season, win them all, thus creating "top match-ups" throughout IC play. SO now, you have a 4-0 Ole Miss team taking on a 4-0 Tennessee team, which most likely both are ranked, creating a "look at the SEC! They are so good! The SEC just beats up one another week in and week out!" Guess what...EVERY CONFERENCE BEATS UP EACH OTHER. It just happens that you get two teams ranked because they have EXPLOITED the BCS system: go undefeated and you are in the NCG. Thats it.

The Big 12 caught on to this exploitation back in 2007. The same year KU and Mizzou suddenly were great teams. Baffling.

Meanwhile, in the Pac-10, we play only 3 OOC games....in case you are counting, that is one LESS than every other conference. Also, there are 5 teams that have NEVER played an FCS (D1A) since they created the caste system in 1978. Three of those five teams are from the Pac-10 (UW, UCLA, USC).

So, you can miss everyone with all your condescending bullshit about how big and mighty the SEC and Big 12 are. They are just SMARTER than everyone else. The Pac-10 figured it out, and expanded for a reason.

The SEC has more NFL players than any other conference. There are also more NFL players from the SE region of the US than any other region. Gee, I wonder why. The SEC has a TV deal with both CBS AND ESPN. Players get hyped for a number of reasons. The East is also MORE DENSELY POPULATED than the West: outside of Cali, there isn't much.

Now, fuck off. Thanks.

Clearly, you DONT understand.

but im going off of real life, you know?
Huh?

the "bias" you talk about out here.
Thats because YOU AREN'T FROM HERE, DICK. Of COURSE you dont see it. Are you mentally retarded?

i grew up around real football.
Football is football. There is no such thing as "fake" football.

no one cared about the oregons, the cal berkleys, the washington states etc...
Who, outside there own fanbase, cares about ANY team other than there own? I certainly dont give two flying fucks about that faggoty ass Sooners. Yall still mad at Oregon for winning in Eugene a few years ago? No wonder youre so fucking bitter.

you know why?
you guys were NOT ON THE FUCKING MAP. AT ALL.
In Norman? NO ONE IS ON THE MAP IN NORMAN BESIDES TEXAS.

cali,of course there was Tailback U. but thats about it..
like this guy over here talkin about the huskies lol..
cmon bro.
The Huskies have put more QB's in the league since 1990 than ANY OTHER SCHOOL. But, you knew that already...right? RIGHT?

its like TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS... football in the south and out here.
Of course it is, because there is other this to DO IN THE WEST. When you play in a place like Tuscaloosa, what the FUCK else are you going to do other than root fore a football team?

Yes. YOU are a troll.

And I never called YOU cute. Someone needs a reading comprehension course. Please, head to your local CC and enroll immediately. Thanks.

lol cmon...this is harmless banter, the time in between rounds of mw2...
over a cup of coffee and some kush.
You arent that dumb, are you? Last time I checked, you dont just go into a public place, start a conversation with someone wearing a Duck jersey with "No one gives a shit about the Ducks...they suck and you are a faggot". Cut the crap, sweetheart.

youre obviously a smart guy. i have no beef with you.
im not trying to fuck up your threads. i like these threads.
you just support shite teams, mate.
See? Trolling. U can haz it. You say shit like this to get a reaction out of people. THAT IS WHAT TROLLING IS.

the thing about you west coast fans is you have to become Stat Nerd to make your argument. all i gotta do is turn on the tv, or put Madden in.
More trolling behavior. Sorry, sport...stats > Madden (lolwut). Stats prove facts by giving EVIDENCE of such. Without stats, you would never be able to decipher, well, ANYTHING as fact.

And "turning on the TV" is EXACTLY what a casual football fan, living in the SE region of the US would say. THATS why no one with a brain takes that region seriously when talking about why things are the way they are in college football.

Here is a fun fact: The Florida Gators have not played a regular season game OUTSIDE the state of Florida...in 21 years. Yes, you read that correctly. And you wonder why people like me LAUGH at the SEC is the best argument???

:ermm:

Unrelated to football, put pertinent to the conversation about stats:

Who is the better pitcher...Felix Hernandez of CC Sabathia? If you said Fernandez, you would be correct. However, can you tell me WHY he is better? Here is a hint: sabermetrical stats. And yes, they are a very GOOD indicator as to why him, and every other baseball player, is who they are.
