The only CB you need to know is Patrick Peterson from LSU. Big, fast, and a ball hawk. Only a Junior, but most say he will be heading to the NFL.
QB's seem to kind of go up and down depending on the week, but most will tell you Mallett (Arkansas), Locker (Washington), and Luck (Stanford) will all be gone by the 2nd round. Sleepers in the 4th or up are Dalton (TCU), and maybe a TJ Yates (North Carolina) or Weeden (Oklahoma State) if he decided to come out this year, which I dont think he will. I haven't seen McElroy (Alabama) mentioned very much, but he has been beyond solid for Alabama his entire stint. However, that could be because he has some of the best talent you can have around him for his tenor. Cousins from Michigan State is another one that is on the rise...but he is also JR. Stanzi from Iowa is a bit of an enigma, in that he has progressed every year and is playing his best ball, yet NO ONE talks about him...but they should. Christian Ponder (Florida State) has been underwhelming this year. Not sure whats up with him.
Then there are a bunch of "athletic" QB's that more than likely will become WR's in the NFL, but maybe one or two could actually be drop back passers...like Griffin from Baylor (but he is only a SO). I dont think Pryor (Ohio State) will leave, as he could use another year of development. Tyrod Taylor (Virginia Tech) has done nothing but be a leader and while he has a canon arm, he has much better legs. Same goes for Nesbitt (Georgia Tech). But, teams will give them a look because they are great athletes. Garcia from South Carolina i dont think will even get drafted, personally. I have never been impressed with him, and he benefits from a GREAT defense.
As far as CB's go...Amukamara Prince from Nebraska is going to play on Sundays....big time CB, as is Ras-I Dowling from Virginia. Both are Projected to go in the first round. Shareece Wright from USC is big and fast and can hit like a freight train. He might serve better as a S in the NFL though. The other highly rated CB is Jenkins from Florida. Chris Rucker from Michigan State is big. Rasheed Carmichael from Virginia Tech runs a sub 4.4 and VT is known for putting defensive guys in the NFL. I haven't seen Davon House from New Mexico play yet, but he is supposed to be a promising one...but his team sucks so much ass that you never get to see him play! Chris Culiver from South Carolina is another big kid who might benefit by moving over to S in the NFL. All these guys could go in the 3rd round or higher.
