I agree its good to have a thread every week. Youre threads are appreciated here.
For the first time maybe in my life, I'm going to say the SEC isn't overrated in terms of the talent and the games. I'm impressed by Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and Florida still has a footprint even with their mediocrity this year. Same with LSU, who I believe will go down next week, and hopefully drop in the polls. Its a shame that there's pre-season rankings, that's where the bias comes in and where it kills college football. Teams in the SEC are ranked so high they simply hang around in the top 25 and look good. As always the Pac-10 never gets ranked well, they're #3, #4, #5 conference teams fight there way in and out of the rankings week to week as conference play continues. I do think the rankings have given the Big 10 a pretty fair shake, I think they have a good conference this year and a lot of their teams are ranked right around where they should be.
As far as the national championships it seems like no one wants it this year but a strong Oregon team, Boise St. and TCU, Oklahoma, and South Carolina, Auburn or Alabama. I don't see Michigan St. as a contender this year. At this point, I see Oregon going undefeated and the winner of the SEC championship playing for the BCS. It should be interesting because its been tiring watching the SEC beat up on Ohio State and the Big 12. A Pac-10 SEC matchup is what fans of both conferences want. SEC fans won't admit it but they know they still have something to prove with the Pac-10.
