This is the first of 3 weeks of "Rivalry Week". remember when most these games were played in the same week???
No. 10 Ohio State at Michigan
Normally, this would be a top rivalry game but Michigan has been sagging the last few years. However, that does not mean they can not win, becuase anything is possible. tOSU has won 5 in a row and lead the series 57-42-6.
Minnesota at No. 13 Iowa
The Big 10 has many trophy rivalries, this one being no exception. This is for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy, which is a pig. Minny has only won this game 2X this decade. The all-time series is 39-33-2 in favor of Minny, however.
North Carolina at Boston College
Not a rivalry game, but an important one for BC if they want to make it back to the ACCCG for the 3rd year in a row, only this time it would be against a different Tech school. They also need help from Clemson...a loss to bottom feeder UVA.
Florida International at No. 1 Florida
This is in here as the "WTF?" game of the week. Why Gators are playing hapless FIU in the 12th week of CFB is beyond me. Here is an article on Florida and their refusal to travel outside the swamp:

No. 8 LSU at Mississippi
The Magnolia Bowl is the name of this game, which has been played 97 times, with LSU winning 55 of those. However, Ole Miss took the game in convincing fashion last year. Can they play spoiler this year for a BCS bound LSU team?
No. 14 Penn State at Michigan State
This is for the Land Grant trophy, becuase both of these schools are on land grants, and are the oldest of their kinds. The trophy is rather new, and PSU has won all but 4 of the 16 meetings, including last year's.
Purdue at Indiana
These two instate rivals battle it out for the Old Oaken Bucket trophy, which Purdue has dominated 55-26-3 (69-36-6 is the series record), including last year.
Baylor at Texas A&M
Aptly names the Battle of the Brazos because this river runs between the two, even though they are 90 miles apart. A&M leads the all-time series 65-31-9.
Arizona State at UCLA
ASU needs to win out to be bowl eligible, UCLA can afford one more loss to still be in it for a bowl. Essentially, both teams are playing for their post-season chances, as their rivalry games boast two teams that are better than they are.
Louisiana-Monroe at Louisiana-Lafayette
Cant really find any info on this other than it is called the Battle on the Bayou. If Monroe wins, it will be its first winning season since joining the FBS.
*****Amendment*****
Kansas State at Nebraska
Winner goes to the Big 12 CG. But here is the kicker: if KSU loses, they drop out of bowl eligibility.

No. 25 California at No. 17 Stanford
Known as "The Big Game", it is one of the most recognizable rivalries simply becuase of the "The Play" in which Cal won on a kickoff, which was lateraled four times, with no time and Kevin Moen jumping into the Stanford band which had headed onto the field. The series lead is by Stanford, 55-45-11. Cal won it last year. Stanford still has a chance to win the Pac-10 at 2 losses, but needs Oregon to lose once and Oregon State to lose once, along with winning out. Cal is mathematically still in it, but the scenario is ridiculous.
No. 11 Oregon at Arizona
With all kinds of scenarios in the Pac-10 forming, including a possible, but very unlikely, 6-team tie for the Pac-10 crown, this game is real important as the winner could hold the key to winning the Pac-10. Oregon, win or lose, will have the Civil war possibly deciding the winner of the Pac-10; however, Oregon winning would put Arizona at a far disadvantage, as they would have 3 conference loses and most likely out of it.
