City of San Diego???

I MIGHT go to SDSU, but I'm heavily considering the cost of living to make my decision. I checked out some apartments online in San Diego and some say utilities paid including water, sewage, AMP; trash. WTF is AMP? What's the avg cost of a 1bed/1bath and a 2bed/2bath apartment? Not in the ghetto folks lol. ALso what's the tax rate in San Diego? Hows the traffic? Compare it to LA's if you can. Food expensive? I know it's a tourist city and all but hopefully I can make it work somehow over there. Places I'm considering to live are near SDSU, La Mesa etc. Any recommendations? Apartment recommendations? WOuld highly appreciate any feedback, thanks. Also hella people from the North Bay go to SDSU. I met up with a few people here in Santa Rosa and EVERYBODY says the people in San Diego are hella different, I don't know what that means really. Anyone from the bay that lives in SD care to explain if they have the same feeling?

I also posted a similar thread in the 91siccness forum. Because I got accepted to both state schools, is why I'm asking these questions. I also noticed hella mafuckas got 916 and 619 in their location and screen names, what's with the connection?

Huh? What state did you go to? And I ain't tryna live in the hood cuz it ain't MY HOOD. I'm tryna go there and learn not go where all the noise is at. What about sac state? You don't make sense. Anyway, what's costly about SD? Besides rent? Food expensive too? I wanna know the tax rate over there. And I'm 21 and over folks...

I went to SDSU and it was off the chain! Had the time of my life.. Beautiful girls, next to perfect climate, you can chill out when you want or find a party that's crackin' whenever. I would never question my decision to go there, and although I never went to Sac St, I would say SDSU has the upper hand in all areas (lil biased). I started there when I was 18 though, and since you're over 21 you might want to live closer to the beach or near Qualcomm (Mission Valley). I lived close to campus the whole time I was there, and lived my last 2 years at a very nice housing community named "La Mirage" which was a 3 bedroom for $2050, but I had the hook up there and other people were paying $2400 for the same thing. A lot of areas are cheaper, but prices are similar to slightly higher than LA. Traffic is like any other cities' rush hour (7am, 4-6pm) you will get stuck.

When that guy said he goes to 'State,' that's what people call SDSU out here.. I see how you got confused.

SOOO many Norcal people move and go to SDSU it is unbelievable.. (you will not feel alone) --the mentality is definitely different from SoCal, but it's not a big deal. Real recognize real. It's just like any other place.. just go there open minded. All the Norcal people I know rep it to the death, but almost ALL of them are not moving from SD anytime soon.. that will tell you somethin'.

And if you go to State, you gotta check out www.cdbaby.com/granttheft sold almost 1,000 copies there..

SAN DIEGO has alog of good people there. I met Grant Theft there, do it, it is expensive though. You get what you pay for. Grant lived next to hella fine women, I've been to his old spot.

its pretty expensive, the areas that you want to live in you could probably be paying over a grand a month easy(for one bedroom) the tax rate is a 7.75%-its going up in El Cajon to 8.25%-El Cajon is like 5 miles east of SDSU-gas is about $2.60 gal. for regular unleaded, but i guess its expensive everywhere. Shit it aint cheap living here, but then again i aint been to the bay so i couldnt compare prices and stuff

I graduated from SDSU in 2001, and it was cool. But I'm from Dago, so it wasn't really no big deal. I met some cool people though. Most of the people that I met was from the L.A. area or the Bay/Sac. The people that I met from the Bay ended up being real cool people. There's not as much color as I would've liked to see,but it was cool. SDSU got some tight broads, so go ahead and fuck with it. You won't find affordable housing anywhere, not even in the ghetto, so you might as well find somewhere nice to stay at and pay more. Check out www.complexmuzic.com. peace.
