the key phrase is that "he WAS a great player". He has no legs anymore and is probably gonna retire any year now. Plus, they werent gonna win the title this year anyway, and this frees up alot of cap room in the coming years to bring in someone great and keep the nucleus they have.

Kings are better off without Webber. If Bobby can come back and make a difference I think the Kings will do better than Phoenix, but San Antonio has the Championship locked up.
