I'm surprised people have the opinion that he makes top selling rappers look like dog shit but someone is doing something wrong dude like dissappeared. One little Pac lyric fucked dudes career cuz I forgot about Chino if he was so tight what happened then someone let me know...I also heard that Crooked I shit and Crook ate him up...

you haven't heard his first album in 96..he is an excellent lyricist
I agree, apart from the adequate production of "Here to Save You All" his lyrics were very deadly!

I admit, I did not favor Chino's music at first but after I saw the video for "Kreep" on BET, I felt the lyrics!

Well not only that, I read in an interview long ago that his former label American Records dropped Chino due to the fact that he has made comments in his lyrics towards certain producers and artists in his album "Here to save you all".

My opinion however is that his lyrics and poor production at the time was not palletable enough for most people to ingest. That's why his production and style on "I told you so" seemed a bit more user friendly.

Chino is tight, but it seems as if you speak on the wrong kinds on people on wax in this game, that they would use their influence and take your career off the line.

ain't that the truth..canibus too!
You're right about Canibus and his selection in beats, but I honestly thought he had some decent production on his 2000 B.C. album!

You know what, I have noticed a small pattern. It seems that the dopest beats often have mediocre lyricism on it and the beats that aren't produced very well have to make up for it with very precise lyricism!

^^, i think its cause 'emcees' are really just focusing on what they are saying more so than the music production behind it. the lyrics over beats, they're emcees basically. they get caught up trying to make the best rhymes ever they forget about making an actual good "song". i have never been a big fan of chino xl though, he's not my cup of tea. he's real smart though in terms of bookwise but probably decision making, well another story.

Aftermath is Garbage and so is Dre. I would never take a Dre beat for Free. Now Premiere yes I would sign with Gangstaar in a minute. Signing with Dre is the end of an MC and the start of a rapper.

not to mention his excellent work with stoupe on rip the jacker, finally thought he was on the right track as fas production goes then he does his latest album with nottz. one of the worst up and coming producers i have heard in a while. not feeling any beats he has done lately.

and in my opinion chino would be taking a step back in production by having dre and em produce for them. cant stand their monotonous beats. they all sound the same, especially em's. from a business stand point of course it would be smart from him,but from a sound and quality point of view as a fan i think the product would be dissapointing. no chino XL feat. D12...i'll pass
