Well it was a good album don't get me wrong..

But considering that Chamillionaire is one of the greatest lyricists of our time I was expecting it to be much better.

I think the Carter vol. 2 edges it out. They are both good though.

^^ I HIGHLY DOUGHT THAT HOMIE..
gold is by how many you shipped.... not soundscan sales....

From http://www.riaa.com/gp/certification/default.asp ...

"We are often asked why we don’t just use sales figures from SoundScan. SoundScan measures over-the-counter sales at music retail locations, while the RIAA®'s certification levels are based on unit shipments (minus returns) from manufacturers to a wide range of accounts, including non-retail record clubs, mail order houses, specialty stores, units shipped for Internet fulfillment or direct marketing sales, such as TV-advertised albums."

The homie went gold...

You dont know how it works...he coulda pressed up a billion... but he sold 500K plus to the stores.... he doesnt have em all on consignment till people come swoop em up lol. There are a ton of things soundscan doesnt take into consideration.

I said its certified gold... you said i doubt it... i was just postin up facts... the man got his gold record.

Its a good album, but I expected more of a southern sound too it. I liked it way better then the Paul Wall album. Is it me or were some of his lyrics recycled from other songs he's done?

CD is 9/10. I'm glad he actually showed off his lyricism more in this CD. He might of over did the singing a little bit.

JL hit it right on point with the whole TX thing. I'm glad it wasnt a TX album cuz Mike and Paul did that and both were wack.

Cant wait for the screwed version.

HOW WELL DID CHAMS FIRST WEEK SALES DO??
I thought the album was ok nuthin special.

He sold 134,000 first week and 68,000 the second. I dont know where the certified gold came from cuz he's far from that as of right now.

I liked this cd a lot I think the reason it does not a have Texas fell to it, even thou I dont know what a Texas feel is cuz I'm not from there, but anyway I think Chamillionaire is more about the lyrics, and show off his lyricism. I think he did sing a lil bit too much, but its all good in the hood. I liked it, especially the joint with Krayzie Bone, Ridin Dirty.

I obviously need to go get that Lil Wayne the carter album. I have waited this long to go get it cause I was in disbelief that it would be any good. I didn't dig any of his other albums.
I almost bought that chamillionaire album today, but decided I didn't want to based on what i have heard of it so far, so it was good to hear y'alls opinions on it too. I definitely thought Paul's album had a lot more of a texas feel to it, and when I heard it for the first time all the way through, my first words were "texas won with this album."

It surprises me though that so many of y'all are surprised that their mainstream music isn't as good as the underground stuff. It's not the first time it's happened, in fact, it happens damn near everytime! One of the only exceptions has been a couple of the cash money cd's, UGK and Eightball and MJG. Other than that, damn near everyone else has been lackin on their mainstream efforts.
