ORLANDO, Fla. -- The first of the 12 jurors who acquitted Casey Anthony of first-degree murder is speaking out.
Jennifer Ford, or juror No. 3, says the jurors were "sick to their stomachs" after voting to not convict Anthony in connection with the death of her daughter.
Ford, a 32-year-old nursing student, told ABC News in an exclusive interview that she didn't think there
was enough evidence to convict Anthony.
"I did not say she was innocent," Ford told ABC.
Ford said it was difficult to determine a punishment without proof of the crime.
"Everyone wonders why we didn't speak to the media right away," she said. "It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren't ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial."
Ford is single, has no children and is the youngest of five siblings. She said during jury selection she didn't know about the case until recently.
Hours after the verdict, an alternate juror who did not participate in deliberations spoke with the media.
