yup, you can have ten different people read the same passages and come out with different points of view. i mean shit the muslim god, the christian god, and the jewish god is the same god yet all these different people hate each other. even more look at how christians amoungst themselves differ (catholics and protestants)
well, the main thing with me is this.....i am a born again christian. i used to be a catholic. they actually knock the things that catholics do openly in church. at first i was hatin it, but i started realizin that they right. in the catholic church, they have you confess you sins to the priest, no where in the bible does it say you have to do that. no where does it say you have to be baptized at an age where you don't even know what's going on. i was just baptized a month or so ago for the first time cause it was my choice and i knew what it was about now, that's how it should be. it doesn't say, that a priest can't marry. it does say somewhere that if you don't need to have a sexual relationship, that is good for you but it is not bad to have one as long as it is with the opposite sex, can't remember where though. but these are just a few things about that religion, they pray to the virgin mary, or the virgen de guadalupe if they are mexican. the only one that offers salvation in the bible in Jesus, not his mother. she was chosen by God to bear Jesus as her child even though she was a virgin, but Moses, Abraham and John the baptist were all important figures in the bible and i don't pray to them, because they didn't offer salvation. Like i said before, the jewish people were selected by God as the chosen people. Jesus himself was jewish for this reason, and they didn't accept him for the most part. all they wanted him to be was a military leader to protect them for the romans. even after the numerous miracles people saw with their own eyes, they still didn't believe, and they had him killed. jewish people to this day, still don't believe that he was sent for them and they don't believe that he was the messiah, that is why catholics and protestants don't like them. i mean, i try to still love and respect all of the religions, but i have my beliefs and i want to discuss with other people about their religions and tell them what God has done for me as my testimony so people can see and possibly change their mind and stance on religion. sorry this was so long, but it is the deepest subject anyone can post i thing, and that is universal too.

I TRY TO LOOK AT RELIGION IN A DIFFRENT POINT VEIW. I LOOK HOW EACH RELIGION RELATES TO EACH OTHER. THEY ALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON. FROM CATHOLICS, CHRISTIAN DENOM., HINDUS, MUSLIMS, BUDDHIST, WHATEVER IT MADE SOME PERSON OR IN CASE OF THE CATOHOLICS GOD AS MAN, MOHAMMED TO THE MUSLIMS, BUDDHA TO THE BUDDIST FEEL A STATE OF GRACE OR BE CONTENT WITH LIFE. TO ME RELIGION IS A TOOL TO GET TO THAT POINT.

i can hear what you sayin about the state of inner peace, i think that is the main thing about buddhists is inner peace here on earth, but another thing too, is martial arts. i have studied numerous styles of martial arts and it does actually give you a sense of inner peace. it makes you less violent and i am a hell of alot less likely to hit someone first, but if someone is trying to hit me or attack me, it's like a switch is turned on and all of that built up energy is let out. like when you have butterflies in your stomach, which is prolly inevitable in a fight i'd say, you can use that to your advantage if you have complete control of your body which i'd have to say is true... but this is according to Bruce Lee. that's why he was so good, he understood so much what the arts were about. but on the religion, i agree what you saying chango. Remember on Menace 2 Society, shareef's dad says "if allah can make him a better man than Jesus can, i'm all for it." that is a good arguement. but the thing is with me, where are we going after this earth. this ain't directed at any one person

I DO KNOW THAT THE BIBLE WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY MANY DIFFRENT PEOPLE IN MANY DIFFRENT LANGUAGES MAINLY HEBREW FOR THE OLD TESTAMENT AND TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH MAKES THE BIBLE LOSE MEANING SHIT TRANSLATION FROM SPANISH TO ENGLISH MAKES WORDS LOSE MEANING SO AN ANCIENT LANGUAGE I BET WHOLE STORIES AND CONCEPTS ARE LOST.
you know what though chango, if you say something in english and translate it into spanish, it would be different, but the root of the sentence is there, and depending on who is translating it, it will still mean the same thing. when people were translating it into the different languages i am sure it did change, but God's message never does. the thing about the bible to me is God is talking to you when you read it, not the pages speaking to you. when my pastor is giving his sermon, it applies to my life, and everyone else in the room on different levels, and that is because the pastor is open to receiving the Lord's word in his heart, and when he speaks to us and our open hearts, God is ministering to us all on the levels and issues that we need him. although stories may be lost or changed, God's word is still in there and if you read it when you read it with an open heart, he will minister to you aswell. that's just my take on it. this wasn't directed at any one person
