i like to go with the flow man...i like to see people do what they feel. if they feeling hyphy then do that...now i aint ever seen someone actually think "if they did it then i can too" but if thats the case theyre doing it for the wrong reason. a record should represent what a person feels at that time WHATEVER IT MAY BE. now THATS being true. u mean to tell me if i feel hyphy and make a hyphy song then im a sell out cause it sounds like everyone else or that u wont bother taking a listen for the same reason?

alright I'm glad you decided to post a link YOUNGMOE.

now it aint like my word is gon mean anything but listenin to that one track "Cuddie Gets Cut" I gotta say you got some potential. Now I havent listened to the rest but I will its just on that beat I noticed you got that Bay swagger not all the way mobb or just Hip-Hop(I dont like that bullshit backpack term) and you had some Bay type beats plus decided to flow over some underground shit like Cuddie Gets Cut but not exactly havin the kinda flow you'd expect over that type of instrumental.btw I use to hear that beat on wake up show, that beat is tight.

props :chinese:

whatever..... any way you put it the bay musically is still ahead of the game.....

and this is why, within our own regieon there are so many people changing everyday....like you, you are already getting tired of that sound right?????

well that keeps the bay elevating

the problem is we move so fast with our shit that the rest of the country cant catch on...

i mean fools in the atl have ringged the water outa crunk
for 2 years. and they were doin that before they hit the radio and video. so if fads dont last long in our area how is it gonna reach the masses...?

The successful muscians are the ones who create music for the love of the art, sometimes riches will follow, but most of the time it's hard to get chipped off or recognized outside your circle. The markets so oversaturated tryna make the club banger, or the radio cut... it'll be a long road if the only vision is of lucre and havin' cake.

Look at that new Damian Marley cut, gettin' all sorts of play, but when he was asked if he made it for the radio and the club, and made it to be a hit, he was perplexed with the thought and said he's just tryna make some righteous music for the masses....

I don't know.... maybe off topic, maybe on point, its just my thoughts off top from this post

Damien Marley is a MARLEY= He is in a since musical royalty...Had he been Damien Smith from the Virgin Islands no one would give a fuck. This "problem" happens in all genres of life not just Bay music. If Coke makes a low carb soda Pepsi makes one to simply stay in the fold. In the 90's EVERYBODY had mobb beats and I can remember people in that time (not in reflection) were sick of hearing that sound. The bottom line is people are followers. If someone really came with something different everyone would say "That ain't Bay shit"...People want what they are comfortable with. People for the most part don't want to be challenged they want the shit layed out for them to get the 1st time they hear it or see it. I personally like the energy of the new music out here, but I am sick of the replication of words like Hyphee, Scrappa's, Purple, Pills...When I hear those key words I know I'm running into a RAPPER and not an ARTIST. The Bay is coming back into the fold because of the new bay area artist like The Frontline, The Team, F.A.B, Turf Talk, Balance and they all have different sounds from eachother if you listen to their albums. I HOPE they take the time to get better and not complacent with the music they have been making.
