does it have firewire? (I don't think it does) but if so hook it up to another mac and initialize it. it will erase everything off there, but at least you'll have a new fresh clean laptop

@Defy - have you actually done that?

I remember reading a while ago that you couldn't get around not knowing a login password on Mac OS. Although the article didn't speak to using another computer to initialize it, you would think it was considered.

i had that problem too. i could use the computer as it was but i couldn't install serato scratch live without the administrators password. some dude showed me how to just create a new profile with the same options as the main user. don't remember how though.

theres really not much of an advantage to either.. the fact people think OSX is actually better is funny, think about it theyre the same thing. It just one has a larger fanbase than the other so that means Windows gets attacked left and right with viruses and exploits, why would someone want to waste their time doing shit like this for OSX when there isnt as big of a fanbase to affect? All in all.. OSX is just as vulnerable and bad. If anything.. LINUX is the way to go, free programs.. faster and better to run.

really? because i've been running osx since 2002 and have had < 1% of the problems i've had on windows

but yeah, the only thing that can fuck with osx is linux

well the advantage you have is that your OS is not a target for hackers as much as if you had windows. Apples are cool, but i wouldnt buy one unless i was doing some top notch video/music production, other than that i think ill use a quad or dual core amd or intel for now.

Get a mac OS install CD and you can reset the password.


edit: mac os sucks dick, its worse than windows(imagine that!), fucking terrible. I have an ibook that I use all the time, so yes I can say it as fact...
