Incase you didnt know Cam is deep in the streets and well respected(he a real nigga not no T.V personality with a image to potray like 50 Cent). Cam cant imcriminate himself on national T.V. especially on a news journalist show(they hold all that shit against you as evidence especially when your on probation like Cam is, Thats the whole point they was trying to do is to set him up for failure and make him give them more info on his shooting)
I don't give a fuck about none of that "deep in the streets and well respected..." bullshit. It's still an ignorant, destructive, selfish and self centered point of view. If you agree with this dude, I hope he moves into your apartment building and refuses to snitch on the serial killer that lives in the apartment above you. Not you personally Cesolito, so don't go getting all butt hurt. You meaning, "you as a collective who believe in this"...

If he's such a "real nigga" and is so worried about incriminating himself on national TV, what ... the ... fuck is he doing on 60 Minutes then? All he had to do is NOT do the show. He's trying too hard to follow 50 Cent's business model without 50 Cent's business acumen.

Get the fuck out of here man, he's tryin to sell records and that's all. This aint got nothin to do with street credibility. This is all about commerce. Considering the negative onslaught that Hip Hop is taking in the media in the wake of the Don Imus crap, this segment aint helpin hip hop's image at all.

I can't wait to see this shit. Has the entire segment leaked yet?

The battle between Cam’Ron and 50 Cent continues. This morning (April 5), Cam’Ron called Miss Jones’ Hot 97 morning show in New York City to respond to 50 Cent’s remarks he made yesterday. In the interview, Cam announces he’s changing the title of his next album to Courtesy Curtis, which will be released the first week of July. “Listen, man, we all got a deal with YouTube. Just admit when you lost,” Cam told DJ Envy in response to 50’s comments. “He’s losing the battle and he can’t go to sleep. When he was on Angie Martinez, he said he’s got bags under his eyes. Well, he must got a month and a half of bags under his eyes. It must be drooping down to his knees, because he really lost and he can’t take it. I just wanted to let people know the name of my album — it’s Courtesy Curtis. Seriously, I’m just letting people know that. I was trying to chill out, because it’s really not fun taking advantage of someone who can’t compete with you. But since he wants to keep on carrying on, I’ll take it to the next level.” Cam went on to say, “I also got a sitcom coming out called Curtis, which you can check out on my channel that’s along with KOCH. It’s called Diplomat/KOCH TV, which is on YouTube. We already showed the clip, but it’s a whole sitcom with Curtis, a.k.a. Curtis Jackson. At the end of the day, they are loosing and we smell blood.”

I wouldn't say 50 Cent is my idol, but I definitely respect his business savvy. But I guess it aint cool to respect 50 Cent for ... well ... anything because... well... he's 50 Cent.

In all seriousness, the difference between you and me Cesolito is that I don't get wrapped up in all of the "hype" that surrounds hip hop. I'm not rooting for 50 Cent and against Camron. This isn't Lakers vs Celtics or Ali vs Frazier. It seems like you take the WWE aspect of this shit a lot more serious than I do.

I'm Creole and nope, wasn't raised in the suburbs... What you have to understand is that just because I'm raised in a certain environment doesn't mean I always HAVE to think like everybody else in that environment. We'd all be dead if everybody in "the hood" adopted the same destructive ideology, lol. There has to be someone that takes a different approach. It's all survival though...

I don't think you understand that that's what your image is there for. You find what works and you shove it in the face of the public until they don't buy it anymore...

What you're not understanding is that IT IS ALWAYS for publicity which in turn is to sell records.

What is Camron's core business? His music.
How often does he drop an album? Shit ... once a year maybe? Maybe once every two years?

He has to keep his name buzzing somehow during that downtime between albums. Being a media whore is his way to keep his name out there. It may not be part of the record company push, but it's all to make sure you don't forget that Camron is still there.

He even will tell you himself he dont make the most income with music (no rapper these days do)

Actually his liquor, clothing line, magazine series and the couple night clubs he owns makes him more money then music does.

Rap is turning into the worst profession to get into.

He would have ZERO action at any of that if it wasn't for his core business...

His music.

And thats exactly what happen to 50 thats why he is making the roster cuts now bc he lost so much money nad credit. and dont forget rap money isnt what it was in 03 & 04 when he first dropped his Get Rich Or Die Trying. His image is old now its time to repacked he lost alot of friends and fans over his stupid ass beefs.

Not always thats one of them things we would never know. Theres plenty of designers and liquor creators and club owners thats filthy rich and they not entertainers.

Lets wrap this convo up

Put it like this We both have different opinions you think he did this interview for publicity I disagree. If you didnt know Cam is a huge name in the streets of Harlem and New York as a state period, even in Ohio especially here in Cincinnati so the law been trying to get him caught up for years so why do you think 60 Minutes did the interview to begin with? Bc they knew he has a rep and he is real unlike 70% rappers out today and on top of all that they was trying to dig deep to get more info on his D.C shooting so tehy can put someone away

Credit? Huh?

He aint doin nothin that other record labels aint doin. The difference is that he's 50 Cent and everybody wants to see him lose, so as soon as he takes any kind of loss, everybody makes it out to be something that is only happening to 50 Cent (WWE mentality).

- BUT IN REALITY -

Again, he goes through the same shit other record labels go through (even independent labels). If it's not worth the investment, why put it out??

That's bullshit and you know it. He followed the lead of other entertainers and allowed his music career to be the thing that established a base market for those other products. No music career, no other business ventures. Nice try though...

lol, so you're saying that 60 Minutes, and the state of New York are in collusion in an attempt to lock Camron up?

There are bigger fish to fry than one, Cameron Giles man. Again, peep what the media is trying to do to hip hop right now. Camron, being the ignorant mufucka that he is, with this irresponsible point of view, is exactly what the mainstream media needs (right now) to continue to crucify Hip Hop music and culture.

I agree. and if cam woulda saw the bigger picture he would have declined the interview. because its 07, not the early 90's. and what i mean is any type of promo is not gonna help you records sell. now the media is gonna blow this shit out of the atmosphere.
but it is still gonna be hella funny! lol

Actually I just saw this episode of 60 minutes in streaming audio it isnt what you think it is Peete this interview is mainly about the culture of hip hop music these days and they happen to interview Cam to get some of his input and point of views of it..

I just saw it in streaming audio it leaked they talk about the VA Tech shooting in this episode also. It wasnt no promo in it you got it confused.
He was just giving his point of view in the lifestyle something you dont understand being you was raised in the suburbs and dont know the rules of the streets.

See theres certain rules and codes of the streets that you gotta live by especially if you have any affiliation in them. it dont matter if your a rapper or even homeless. breaking these rules can more then likely get your life taken quickly. Do not snitch is rule number one its been like that since the 60's.

So you agree with snitching? Im with Cam on this if I lived next to a killer I would move too I wouldnt rat him out bc its honestly non of my business on what the indivdual does. You shouldnt stick your nose in business that dont concern you. Thats teh way I was raised.

Sounds like it isn't what YOU thought is was and exactly what I figured it was going to be.

I'll wait to see it tonight. Not sure how to watch streaming audio
