JULY 2003: LA Times cartoonist Michael Ramirez was investigated for a drawing that he says is pro-Bush. A man with the word "politics" on his back is shown pointing a gun at the President. He claims its message is how "leftist anti-war goons" are under-mining Mr Bush.
DECEMBER, 2003: An Eminem number with the lyrics: "I don't rap for dead presidents, I'd rather see the President dead" sparked agents' interest.
They wanted to assess whether it threatened George Bush. In the end, they decided it did not.
Spokesman John Gill said: "The Secret Service takes every potential threat against the president seriously."
APRIL 2004: A boy of 15 in Seattle was quizzed over anti-war drawings he gave to his teacher. One showed Bush as a devil launching a missile with the caption: "End the war - on terrorism." Another had his head on a stick. His school notified police.
OCTOBER, 2004: Annie Sewell- Jennings, 22, of Charleston, South Carolina, was probed for saying in a blog that she "prayed Bush gets an aneurysm".
Derek Kjar, 19, of Salt Lake City was accused of "borderline terrorism" for having a car bumper sticker that read: "King George - off with his head."
SEPTEMBER, 2005: Munir Rashed, 16, of Sacramento, California, was interviewed by the FBI after arguing with his teacher about Palestine and writing PLO on his notebook.
JUNE, 2006: Steve Howards was handcuffed in a mall in Beaver Creek, Colorado, after saying to vice-president Dick Cheney: "Your policies in Iraq are reprehensible."
