WA – What do you think about the cities of Bellevue and Spokane? I flew into Spokane and drove through and it seemed pretty shitty – wrong impression?

CA – are there any good cities in North Cali? Like North of the extended bay area up to the state line? Not small farmer towns and preferably on the western side. Some place NOT like Chico.

OR – Tell me what you think of the Portland area and Eugene area. Pluses and minuses – near by cities or suburban areas included.

No...Spokane IS shitty.

Bellevue is rich & snotty. They are uber-expanding the downtown area and will be half the size of downtown Seattle within 5 years. Bill Gates lives in Bellevue (Medina), as do many Seattle sports players. Microsoft is in Redmond, which is just north of Bellevue. Unless you live in Crossroads (hella messicans), Bellevue is EXPENSIVE.

Bellevue is the rich area. Hella yuppies with Mercedes, Lexus, and BMWs. It's a nice place though for the most part.

Spokane is in Eastern Washington...in the summer it's a desert in the winter it's a tundra. I don't personally care for it but there are definitely worse places to be. They've got some really nice national parks out that way too. And lots of cool hiking and nature stuff, if you're into that sort of thing.

*edit*

sorry i wake and baked...i meant STATE parks LOL

Actually Bellevue has the highest percentage of foreign born residents of any city in Washington at 31%

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2010148785_census28m.html

Bellevue continues to have the largest percentage of foreign-born residents of any city in Washington, the latest U.S. census figures show.

About 31 percent of Bellevue's population, or more than 36,000 residents, is foreign-born, and one in every three residents speaks a language other than English at home, according to the figures from the American Community Survey 2006-2008 three-year estimates of the population, which were released Tuesday.

So with Bellevue it is just basically part of greater Seattle right? Like if you had a job in Bellevue it would be easy enough to commute there and live somewhere else on a more moderate income? Is it really raining about every other day?

From downtown Seattle, pending traffic, it takes 7 minutes to get to the eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland) via either the 520 or I-90 floating bridge. With traffic, it could take you 30-45 minutes.

Yeah on a good day at a good time it takes like 5-10 minutes once you're on the highway. On a bad day, when it's raining, could take 30-60 minutes.

I was actually looking at gettin a job out there about 2 years ago, and would have lived in Seattle...but...if you live in North Seattle, like Shoreline, it does NOT take 10 minutes to get to Bellevue...it takes like 25 minutes at least.

If you live near downtown Seattle, then it's like 10 minutes cause you can hop on I-90 right by Safeco Field.

From 145th & Aurora to Overlake (152nd Ave NE & 24th St.), it takes 12 minutes with zero traffic and going 65mph. I was shocked when i checked my watch.

The issue with our climate is not so much the rain as it is the clouds.

We actually get less rain than a lot of other cities (although part of that is due to the volume of the rain which is generally lighter here)

However, it is cloudy here around 225 days a year.

On the other hand, we have some of the most beautiful summers anywhere. This last summer we a had a few streaks of around 25 consecutive days without rain and 80 degree weather.

Basically around here, winter/fall = rain-cloudy ; spring = less rain & clouds ; summer = great weather

Bellevue is pure faggot! Like everyone said, rich snobby stuck up people. But that's mostly downtown though.

Now you can move outside of downtown bellevue and it isn't that bad. Like near or around bellevue community college or crossroads (although the Indians (dots, not feathers) has taken over that area in the last 5 years or so big time), etc.

Spokane is dirty as fuck. I wouldn't live there.

There are better places to live on the eastside than bellevue imo. Or if want to live in north seattle that would probably be better too.

If I was an outsider I honestly would pick northern cali though, they seem to have the best of all worlds there as far as weather, jobs, etc.

Portland is cool, but it sucks if you don't already have a job lined up. Horrible job market up there. Other than that, I had no complaints for the time I spent there.

Well I wouldn't be moving to any of these places without a job lined up already, but there are some internal availabilities - especially in WA that I'd consider.

It is though! Dudes rockin the faux haircut with skinny jeans everywhere and stuck up hoes with gucci purses and the likes. fuck that place
Yeah I don't really like Bellevue. They don't stare if you have a nice car, until you get out wearin custom red nikes and a red t-shirt. LOL

Washington is a good place. I personally like Western Washington as far as people and weather, but Eastern Washington has less morons in politics, cause they are more conservative out there...and the Dems in Washington are fucking idiots.

Like it's been said, it doesn't rain a lot, just showers and sprinkles ALL day type of shit. Cloudy etc...

But we hit over 100 degrees this last summer, had some REALLY nice days too, for like a month straight at least every day was fucking amazing. I miss it already cause it's raining...well, sprinkling. lol
