Vietnam was a disaster and so is Iraq, unwinable. The longer it goes just means the more dead.
The Viet Minh perfected guerilla tactics the longer the war went on and would fight to the last man. How can you defeat an enemy that is not scared of death?
Iraq is similar, a wider use of IED's and hit n run tactics then hiding among the civ population makes this war impossible to win.
Same thing in Afganistan, that land will never be conquered by an invading army.
Looking at the bigger picture, why are they sending young men to die and kill? Ask this question because that's what it is. Find the answer know the truth.
