The bin laden family has contributed 1.4 billion dollars in the bush family alone. When young George was on the board of directors for a failing oil company, the bin ladens lent millions to drag the company out of debt. Halliburton energy (controlled by Dick Cheney) got a multi-billion dollar contract to build a pipeline to pump oil out of the caspian sea, through afghanistan and down to iraq.

Under Bush's authorization, 143 saudi nationals were flown out of the united states on sept. 13, 2001, 24 of them members of the Bin Laden family. Osama Bin Laden was a wanted terrorist well before 9/11, why were none of the Bin Ladens questioned on his whereabouts?

Do these connections matter?

The Bin Laden family is not a family of terrorists, Osama Bin Laden is a terrorist...

What's the point of this thread? I don't believe Osama keeps in touch with his family, thus the reason nobody questioned them. I could be wrong, but I believe that's what they said not long after 9-11!!

Well Sydal, it's already a known fact that osama had contact with at least 3 family members just a few months before 9/11.

Two days after 9/11 when NO ONE in america was allowed to fly on planes, 24 Bin Ladins where flown out of the country.

Now I'm not a great private investigater or an ex-cop, but common sense tells me that when you have suspect, it might be a good idea to ask their family members a few questions.

On a side note, in the new Michael Moore film, he tells us how the Saudi's actually own almost 10% of the American econony. They have around 1 trillion dollars of american investments.

my whole reason for posin this question was just to have an open ended discussion about the bush family and his ties to the bin ladens and saudi royals....does it mean anything or is bush simply a businessman harmlessly tied to a family that has one black sheep running around.

Fahrenheit had way too many contradictions

But I'll admit, some of the clips from speeches were funny as shit, especially at the end. And what about Paul wolfowitz putting all that spit in his hair? LMFAO

I believe it's the second one. The Bin Laden family is just that. They have a son runnin' around blowing shit up. That has nothing to do with the Bush family, as The Bin Ladens, like I said before, are not a terrorist family.

Ok, now that is NOT true. Moore is known for deceptive writing and movies, but only a person with a very LOW IQ could take what he said to mean that Bush took an 8 month vacation before 9/11.

What everyone fails to factor in is weekend days, which shouldn't count towards the percentages. And although Bush was far from eloquent in describing the "initiatives" or the "stuff" that he was working on while on vacation, it is known that he would work with Tony Blair for many hours alot of days. Doesn't sound like much of a vacation, does it?

And to be fair, like Bush said, alot really can be done thru use of the internet, email, phones, fax, ect. I'd say the actual vacation time would be closer to 4.2%, rather than 42%.

Yeah 2-0, me and Rumsfeld and Cheney are the only people high enough in Bush's book to know that weekend days dont count as vacation days. Got me. I would have never known this obvious idea had I not spent the last 3 1/2 years in the White House

Why should a president, newly appointed to office, having great difficulty appointing his judges, and with the threat of terrorism from a bin laden family member, go on vacation at all? Instead of golfing why didnt he take the iniative to go on tv and speak to the public and be the charismatic figure that a president should be, especially after all the hatred he recieved just getting into office.

Sounds like some investments to me, nothing alarming. With millions of dollars, you can have have ties to anyone in the world.

How do either of you know whether or not his family was questioned?
