Hm, I don't think Carwin's wrestling is better. I mean Brock is probably the most accomplished heavyweight, as far as amateur wrestling pedigree goes. Plus, I think Brock has advantages in agility and speed.

BTW, how has Carwin's conditioning looked suspect? The guy has never made it out of the first round. LOL

^^ yup. Lesnar has the better wrestling and carwin the better stand up. and like morebass said how can you question his conditioning when every one of his fights has finished in the first round.

and lol at the ufc is going to fix the fight.

i say this is a pretty good match up for both guys. im goin with carwin tho. this could either be one hell of a wrestling match or its gonna end quick on the feet. i wouldn't be shocked to see brock pull out the win but i just don't see it happening.

I read somewhere that even though Carwin has double the fights Brock has, Carwin has half the ring time Brock has. Crazy.

If Brock is actually fighting southpaw, then he's trying to wrestle. From my rudimentary understanding, even though fighting southpaw is supposed to be confusing against orthodox guys, it leaves you open to right hands. Carwin re-arranges faces with his right hand so...

Something tells me that Brock is going to test Carwin's wrestling and prove that he's better there. This might end up like the Brock vs Herring fight.

Tough fuckin fight to call

Carwins boxing and wrestling is better...Lately Carwins conditioning has looked suspect though, but his takedown defense and great clinching ability should be able to pull him through..Even if Lesnar is a monster
No, Brock was a division 1 champ and Carwin was a division 2 champ. Gonzaga was able to take Carwin down, he couldn't keep him there but he did get the take down and Brock's wrestling his light years beyond Gonzaga's. His boxing might be better but power does not equal technique in all cases. I mean does he knock people out yes but is it with some beautiful technique...no, not ugly but nothing to talk about. Brock has dropped Randy with a shot and dropped hearing with a shot. Neither Brock or Carwin are expert strikers but to say one is better than the other is not exactly accurate.

How has Carwin's conditioning looked suspect? The guy has never had a chance to show off his cardio, all his wins have been first round KO's/TKO's

No offense dude seriously but have you watched Carwin's fights because what you say about him is so far from the truth. His great take down defense???? Who has tried to take him down and failed?

I am not saying that Carwin cannot win he certainly can and he seems to have true KO power, no one has been able to handle that yet but other than that I don't see how he can win IMO.

I would have to go add up minute for minute but I believe that is true. All Carwin's wins have come within the first 2-3 mins. of the fight except for Gonzaga and Mir. Brock has had a 3 round dec. win which means 15 mins. Plus he went to the second round with Randy so there's another 5 mins and his second fight with Mir went to round 2 so another 5 mins. So yes Brock may have half the fights but he has more fight time.

Brock has better standup, Carwin has better power. Carwin's boxing is basic and his defense is non-existent, but he hits so fucking hard it hasn't really mattered yet. Brock's knocked down Randy and Murr with his punching and he's thrown kicks and knees, which is something I've never seen Carwin do.
Brock also has better wrestling. Carwin's struggled A LOT with taking guys down on shots, which is why he ends up clinching on the cage so much. Brock's taken down everyone he's fought.

Fight comes down to: does Carwin catch Brock on the chin before Brock takes him down in the middle of the cage. If he doesn't, Brock pounds him out. If he does, we have a new champ.

As tough as a fight this is to call I think your last paragraph sums it up. No one has proven to be able to take shots from Carwin but no one has been able to stop Brock from taking them down.

I just don't see how Carwin is going to stop Brock from taking him, and keeping him down. I'm assuming Brock will immediately want to go for the double leg and neutralize Carwin's KO power by keeping him on his back.

There is always that chance that Carwin touches Brock on the chin somewhere in between. That's his only chance, IMO. He isn't going to be able to bully Brock into the cage like he did to Mir.

Gonna hit up Hooters to watch this later, we'll see how that goes. LOL. $10 cover.

i got carwin. this is why i like the ufc because they feed their champs to the wolves sometimes.
so which one is the wolf? you act like one of them is noticeably better. people who hate on brock's skills are just people who hate on brock, i think brock's a douche but i have yet to be let down by his fighting and his matches. i got carwin winning but i think it may be closer than what people think
