Brock's boxing actually looked a lot better than it used to be, before he actually got hit and freaked out
Yeah it did. Still didn't look good, but definitely better. For the first time, I saw him throw a different punch than that straight right. Even threw a combination or two. But shit, Cain has some of the best boxing in MMA and once Brock realized he couldnt take him down, he was done. Cain vs Dos Santos is gonna be sick!

Brock is a good athlete, a freak of nature if you will, but IMHO, he is not MMA material. I'm not taking anything away from the guy because he trained, went in there, got his ass handed to him but didn't have to get carted out. But the guy is not MMA. Yes he has a wrestling background (I'm talking NCAA not WWE), but the MMA thing is a totally different ball game. IMHO, he is the white Kimbo Slice and I don't see him being a serious contender in MMA.

Kimbo was not fighting guys anywhere near the caliber of guys Brock has been fighting. He got his ass whooped by the #1 or #2 HW in the world, nothing wrong with that. He's still very green in the sport with only 7 fights. He just needs to keep training and he'll be fine.

Again, I'm not taking anything away from the guy and he is a good athlete. However, the caliber of opponents doesn't mean much when you're getting your block knocked off. He is still green which doesn't make him different from Kimbo.

How long do you think he needs to train until he is "just fine" and able to compete with guys who don't freak out when they find themselves in danger?

Wow, I thought I was the only one who noticed this. He actually looked really good compared to how he looked in the past. He was moving his head, using very basic footwork and finding a range with his jab. Usually he's very stiff and he has no rhythm, but he was using a decent jab without being stiff.

If you watch this his previous fights he's using some fucked up philly shell(lmao). I don't know who told him to use this shit, but it definitely wasn't for him.

Brock needs a tougher camp. He needs less yes man and more people punching him the face. Dude will definitely be back if his heart is still in it.

Can't wait for JDS vs Cain!

yea brock didn't get gassed he was in the best shape of his life... he just stepped in the ring with a mexican and got his ass kicked.

BROWN PRIDE > WHITE POWER

My bad dude.

I didn't realize that your life was so dismal that you had resorted to living vicariously through the actions of another man who happens to share the same skin color as you.

I don't want to take that fantasy from you. Please carry on.

I agree with you that he is still green, and I think Cain definitely exposed that on Friday.

It was a bit surprising because of how Brock previously handled Mir & Carwin (and even Couture but that can be considered an anomaly because of Courture's size and age disadvantage) who are both good fighters.

But I think going from green to he isn't MMA material is quite a stretch. He might never be the title holder again, but you can't tell me you think he won't remain a force in the division? Especially in a division that is notoriously shallow.

Brocc will be bacc, no doubt in my mind, I don't like the dude but his work ethic is second 2 none, he just needs more standup work and know how 2 defend himself when he gets in trouble

And if u look at the carwin fight and the mir fight got got hurt in both of those fights when mir hit him wit that elbow and that knee, brocc immediatly took him down, we all know wut happened in the first round of the carwin fight, it all sum's down to brocc never being hit on the chin

next camp he has... he really needs to dedicate some time to ONLY striking... he dont need to practice wrestling as much... it obviously comes natural to him... his hands are awful.... but somehow he found a way to break HH's orbital bone... and drop Randy... but with some boxing in his tool bag... he can come back and maaaaybe give Cain a lil bit more of a challenge....

No, I really don't see him being a force in the division. I actually think Brock is going to let this get to him and go off into other ventures. Sadly, I don't want to see him do this as he is an incredible athlete. Yes, he defeated some great guys, but his defeat wasn't surprising to me. I don't think the entire MMA thing comes natural to him as it does some of the other guys (including the people he beat) and I think the reason why the UFC is keeping him around, or wants to keep him around, is so they can continue to milk him for whatever value he has.

On a side note:

Look at Brock's record and look at Kimbo's record. Very similar in terms of W/L but different when it comes to opposition. Brock has faced stronger opponents but Brock also has a background in wrestling (again, I'm talking NCAA here.) What did Kimbo have? A background in backyard fighting. (And this is partially why I say he is the white Kimbo Slice.)
