*DETERMINE GOOD CAUSE**

If you are concerned about being able to collect unemployment benefits after you quit your job, the best thing you can do is to find out if you'll be eligible before you quit your job.

Your eligibility will depend on WHY you quit. If you quit your job for "Good Cause" that can be attributed to your employer you may be eligible for benefits. "Good Cause" reasons may include:

* Unsafe working conditions.

* Your work environment is damaging to your health. You'll need medical verification proving that your work is making you sick or making an existing condition worse.

* There has been a change in your working conditions that is causing hardship or harm. For instance, a change in work hours or duration, a pay reduction or you are being asked to perform job duties that are very different than what you were hired for.

* Your original employment contract has been broken by your employer. For instance, your employer has asked you to work different hours than what was agreed upon in your contract.

* Sexual harassment. There is no reason that a person should have to work in a threatening environment. If sexual harassment persists even after your employer has been given the opportunity to correct the problem you may be eligible for unemployment benefits.

* Quitting to protect yourself or your child from domestic violence. You may have to prove that you tried to keep your job.

* Quitting a job within 30 days of your start date, because it ended up being "unsuitable." For instance, the commute was too long, or the job put your health, safety or morals at risk. After 30 days from your start date, it will be found that you have agreed to the unsuitable condition and will not qualify for benefits

"Good Cause" does not include:

* Quitting because of a health condition NOT cause by the job. For instance if you had a heart attack that prevented you from keeping your job.

* Quitting because you lost your child care.

* Quitting because your boss is difficult to get along with. Unless you can prove a pattern of verbal abuse that any reasonable person would have been offended by and tried to avoid.

lol why are yall treatin superfly snuka like hes some bum...dudes car is prolly worth more than youve made in your life

i met him and he wasnt on unemployment at that time, if im not mistaken he was in the military for a hot one.

and if youre on unemployment you have to look for a job every week. they give you 21 days to sign up to caljobs and start looking.

also, if you get fired you dont get unemployment. ifyou get laid off, you do.

losing your job happens. its not abusing the system. you have to pay bills. those are taxpayers, not homeless people asking for welfare.

you dont have to actually look for a job. all you have to do it check a box on the fourm thats says you attempted to find a job and send the form back to EDD and they send you another check. i dont know about caljobs, i didnt have to sign up for shit back in 05 to get paid.
