I love the bay. I love Vallejo. I love E-40's music. But I gotta say, that this new album blows. Thats not hatin', thats just how I feel about it.

I see a number of cats talking about how this new CD is the shiet and how 40 is God and how this album should go platinum, and I just dont understand where all this noise is comming from.

Do you remember back when Mr. Doc "Bombay" came out? A bunch of people said it was the shit! 5 stars! No one wanted to admit that Doc put out an album that sucked, until about 2 years later word finally got out that it was bullshit! I think that anyone who says this album slams needs to listen to more carefully. Listen to the production, the repetitive horns, the beats that sound the same, the bad chorus' that repeat over and over again. The flows that are off beat, the simple lyrics. Check it out one more time from the perspective of a fan of rap music and not just E-40's #1 fan.

Like I said, I love E-40's music. I love Ric Rocks production...but this one just didnt fit at all. I think this could possibly be 40's worst album. :dead:

Yup, definitely not the usual E-40 quality. Gasoline and Act a Ass are heaters, the rest is weak.

I've only heard it on N-Ridaz.com, I listened to every song, and from what i heard, i think it sucked ass aswell. Beats were WAY to repetitive and that Califoolya song is HORRIBLE, all those talented rappers on that one song wasted by a Horrible beat. Im not going to buy, cuz im sick of buying bad albums. Second worst effort by 40 wata in my opinion.

That was my biggest problem with 40's last album.
The beats were tight, his flow was tight but his fucking chorus' were over done. They went beyond blowin, they fuckin swallowed. Over done singin in chorus' is weak and his last album was a perfect example of that shit.
It's what I feared about this new shit, I guess my fears came true....

I'll still listen to it though, just to hear it for myself....

"word finally got out that it was bullshit"

Right there you seem to display that you don't actually understand what the difference is between an *OPINION*, and a *FACT*.

Word getting out about something involves the facts of a particular circumstance being spread, such as the perpetrator of a crime, or the name of a snitch, but for word to get out that a particular album is "bullshit", would mean that Mr. Doc's album is factually provable to be "bullshit". That is impossible because "bullshit" is simply an adjective describing a particular OPINION of the album. Yet here you are acting as if everyone on the planet uniformly agrees that Bombay was "bullshit". Clearly they do not.

That's like if everyone shared your (wack) opinion of Breakin News, and then 2 years later some clown starts poppin off about how "word finally got out" that Breakin News is actually the shit. The whole shit is ridiculous. Stop typing.

And I agree, some of the shit on there sounds a little gimmicky and generic, but the hot shit like "if if was a fifth", "this goes out", etc., more than makes up for a few slip ups.

Im sick of peoplr just making threads saying This album sucks or its bad. e-40 lyrics are amazing, still coming up with tight shit to say. I just dont understand people sometimes. its like the want the bay to blow and this but they want them to do it the 1996 way. which just wont do it now a days. but im not up here just saying breaking news is the best cd hes put out cuz its not. i love the cd i love e-40 i love the bay, quit hatin and just support

I guess it's all a matter of opinion. I mean, I could see how people wouldn't like this album (production wise), but I think it's another solid 40 release. I wasn't impressed at first, but after I let soak through a couple listens or more, I liked it better each time. There are maybe only like one or two tracks that I'll skip. Like I said before, it's too bad to the people who ain't feelin' it. Maybe he'll catch you on his next one.

I have yet, to not like one E-40 album.

Anyone who is saying his opinion is wack needs to get their head checked.
Just because you dont agree, doesn't mean YOURE right.
I think Ric Roc production sucked fat nuts on this CD.
I'm down with 40 forever and there's few here that can claim bigger fan-status than me (although I aint a dick-rider).
The beats are fucking weird, futuristic, east-coast sounding crap. 40's flows are somewhat on point although he just sounds too mainstream now. I dont give a shit if thats his plan or not... im glad hes trying to make [even more] big bucks. Either way, Im trying to hear some straight CLICK MOBB SHIT!!! Fuck the rest! Fuck the change!

Anyway, now that the negative venting is gone, I have to say that I *think* this cd will grow on me. But not too much. I still think its worse than Grit And Grind.

Knockin' tracks to me are:

Breakin' News
Quarterbackin'
I Hope U Get This Kite
Act A Ass
Gasoline
Northern Califoolya
If It Was A Fifth (My favorite right now)

So I guess 7 cool tracks ain't bad, ya know. I give it a C right now. And I dont think im under rating it.

Mr. Chronic was basically the only one with a *positive* debate response, that remained at least respectful. The rest of you need to log onto dictionary.com and type in the word "o-p-i-n-i-o-n" cuz you got the shit twisted up...

Didn't 40 do a song with Fred Durst?
LOL!
And Fabulous!
LMAO!
And what cluckers are next?
The thing about 40 is that he'll do anything for a buck, including sacrifing artistic integrity.
He's washed up.
But at least he hasn't sold us any recylced tracks like Gay-T.
