Now this is going to be a good fight. Can Gamboa take Bam Bam's punching power? Can Bam Bam deal with the hand/foot speed of Gamboa. Wow think you Bob Arum for making a good fight finally.

what's nice about this fight is it was made 100% by the two fighters. Gamboa wanted Rios, called him out, Rios accepted the challenge, both guys told bob this is what they want and boom, it's a done deal.

this is really a crazy fight. major props to gamboa for being so ballsy.

Rios is going to be huge, I mean he rehydrates 15 pounds at least after weigh in. So he'll be around 150 easily and gamboa is moving up from 126.

Only way gamboa wins is if he boxes perfectly, like Cotto vs Margarito II or Pac vs Oscar. He really can't allow himself to get hit.

Man this is a rough fight. Not sure why Gamboa is jumping up weight classes to fight a guy that killed himself to miss weight last time out. Rios isn't the fastest guy out so I'm hoping Gamboa can get in and get out with ease..

I gotta go with Rios, that height difference is something crucial. I dont think Gamboa will be able to deal with the constant pressure Rios puts on and his defense is not the best. This might be fight of the year though

gamboa wants pacquiao, Rios said he'd stay at 135 for gamboa it's that simple.

Rios is now saying he wants gamboa at 140 despite already agreeing on 135 so I'm not sure what's going on.

Rios is having serious trouble making the weight is what's going on. His last fight wasn't the first fight having weight issues. If you wanna go at a lightweight that's fine, at least go at one that's not dying to make weight and is probably going to come in overweight for the fight anyway..

yeah I know but he shouldn't have told gamboa and HBO he can make 135. what he's been saying is that he finally got a conditioning coach someone to help with diet and managing weight (Cecilio Flores, the nutritionist of Sergio Martinezand). he said his entire career he cut weight by himself and he would eat whatever he wanted and that's why he struggled to make weight. he said as long as he had someone helping him managing his weight 135 wouldn't be a problem.

and gamboa said he wanted to fight Rios at 135 before Rios last fight so that's not gamboas problem.

kinda shocked me when Rios agreed to fight Gamboa at 135 because of the troubles he had his last fight. I'm sure his camp knows he can't come in looking dehydrated as fuck against Gamboa.........Gamboa would take him. That's probly why they now want to step up to 140.

Mexicans get to a certain age and they just can't keep that weight off......LOL
it's in his GENES!!!!

apparently Rios is still down for 135, so nevermind. From one of his peeps

I personally asked Brandon what weight he is agreeing to he said without hesitation 135 no ifs ands or buts

he's already on point with his weight, hired a nutritionist, and is now full stop with his conditioning coach

he will make 135

The only thing Gamboa has an edge in is speed.
Brandon has power, weight, height, reach, and chin.

I think this will serve as a prime example of why people shouldn't move up this much.
Gamboa is so eager to get into the spotlight, but this is the wrong approach. What a gamble on his behalf.

people said pac was stupid for fighting oscar, you never know. If Gamboa is careful I think he can pick him apart.

It's a gamble on his part but the risk/reward is worth it. If he wins, he's close to fighting pacquiao. If he loses obviously everyone will just blame the weight/size and he can go back down to 126 or 130 and continue on with his career.
